Vanguard disables the driver if it's patched. I had disabled vanguard befdore attempting to patch the driver. I had it working before installing valorant. After reading your response I uninstalled valorant but the problem still persists. The device manager shows this 'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)'. |

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Bravo! ToastyX. It fixed my Rx 550 card on Windows 10. It is showing a resolution of 2560x1080 on both monitors now (was only 1920 on monitor #2 before).
Anyway, I was wondering if you can help me with this too. My main OS is linux (Ubuntu 20 / Linux mint) and I'm having the same issue with that. Monitor #1 shows 2560x1080 res just fine but monitor 2 the picture is blurred when I switch to 2560 (1920 it's sharp). I did a lot of research and I'm not able to figure out how to fix this on Ubuntu. The best I could find is this thread: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1247282/...resolution (the values are like greek to me but I've copied pasted everything I could find online to no avail) Can you tell me if it's possible to fix this for linux too? Eagerly awaiting your reply Thanks, San |

Is the blurry monitor on DVI? |

You are correct the blurry monitor is connected via DVI-D to HDMI cable. My graphics card is RX 550 4GB. 1. One things I'd like to add is that the same thing was happening in Windows 10 then I ran your program and rebooted and it was 100% fixed. In windows at least both monitors are running perfectly with 2560x1080 res with no blur. 2. The graphics card has a displayport too. I tried to connect the second monitor via DP to HDMI cable (since the monitors only have HDMI input) but it only showed 1920 max res in both Linux and Windows. Someone told me to get a displayport to hdmi 4k active adapter so I've ordered it (awaiting delivery). Thanks again. |

My graphics card is RX 550 4GB.DVI outputs a dual-link signal beyond 165 MHz pixel clock, but HDMI is single-link so it loses half the pixels. The patch changes that to 230 MHz, but I don't have a patch for Linux. You do need an active adapter to go beyond 165 MHz pixel clock. The other option is to reduce the refresh rate to 50 Hz to get under 165 MHz. Modeline "2560x1080_50" 151.10 2560 2608 2640 2720 1080 1083 1093 1111 +HSync -VSync |

Thanks for the reply and recommendation. So do you reckon that by using a displayport to hdmi adapter (specifically this one that i ordered) I should be able to run both monitors at 2560 res without any patch / linux on my current graphics card (rx 550). Would appreciate your reply since I can still cancel the order today if that won't work either. |

That adapter is certainly capable. |
