Can't seem to get any resolution over 2880x1620 to work
Whatever I try i can't seem to get any resolution over 2880x1620 to work without color compression or reducing refresh rate.
I'm using CRU 1.3 with 2 GTX 1080 GPU's in SLI and a Sony KD55x8509C UHD TV wich both support 4K resolution @ 60hz 4:4:4 chroma. Reducing refresh rate to 30hz or forcing 4:2:0 chroma subsampling works So... you would think that the HDMI cable is to long or has poor build quality to transfer the signal correctly. Well..the weired thing is that 40k 60hz 4:4:4 works perfectly without using the CRU utility. (tested using various chroma subsampling testpaterns) So why does CRU fails to achieve these resolutions? I would like to set up all resolutions like 1440p, 1620p 1800p and 2160p. Without using CRU i only get standard 1080p, 1440p and 2160p. With the usage of CRU I can get 1080p, 1440p and 1620p but no 1800p and 2160p without color compression. The Standard EDID UHD resolution simply dissapears by using CRU. I tested the hell out of the CRU application. Putting these resolutions in all possible locations and extention blocks without any result. Does sombody has any idea what is going on here? (TV is updated to latest firmware and is set up for enhanced HDMI singnals) Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Export a file and post it so I can take a look.

I already experimented quite a lot to achieve some results but everything fails. I can't seem to get 1800p or 2160p resolutions without color compression. Tried reducing timings even further. Tried setting the desired resolutions in a custom extention block. Setting as a TV resolution. Nothing works. Without CRU I can achieve 4k60 4:4:4. The resolution can be seen under the 'HD resolutions group' in the nvidia control panel. When using CRU. The HD resolutions are gone. Only PC resolutions up until 1620p. I hope a solution can be found Thanks in advance! |

RE: Can't seem to get any resolution over 2880x1620 to work
It's missing the HDMI 2.0 data block in the extension block. What happened to the original extension block? You didn't mention changing this. The original extension block should have already had the HDMI 2.0 data block in there.

I don't quite remember deleting it as I did a full reset and just added the detailed resolutions before uploading the profile. I Added the HDMI 2.0 block manually and now the resolutions above 1620p show up! However when i try to select them the screen goes blank with no signal message. Also when trying ycbcr 422. Very strange. Without CRU i am able to display UHD 60 4:4:4. I'm quite sure no color compression is applied using default EDID. Any recommendations what I can try next? |

It looks like you imported an old hdmi-audio.dat file, which replaces the extension block. How did you do the reset? It looks like you used the "LCD reduced" option, which probably won't work with a TV. The TV should have already defined this resolution by default, although maybe it was in the extension block. For the other detailed resolutions, all the LCD timing options are the same, so they shouldn't be affected. 3200x1800 should work unless the TV doesn't support it. |

It looks like you imported an old hdmi-audio.dat file, which replaces the extension block. How did you do the reset? Well i'll be damned. Just doing a full reset and setting detailed resolutions seems to do the trick. It was an old habbit to import the audio file after updating GPU drivers. Without it I couldn't get the HDMI audio to work using the previous version of CRU. Using the default generated extention block i have my standard HD resolutions back and adding detailed resolutions seems to work. However when I apply 3200x1800 resolution the TV internally sets a 1600x1800 resolution. Though 3200x1800 30hz works flawelessly. Perhaps the TV doens't support it at 60hz? Anyway I can live with that |
