But neither added by CRU being shown in display properties available modes, nor nvidia control panel lets me add interlaced resolution (just changing progressive to interlaced makes resolution not working) - Unsupported resolution by monitor.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, could someone help me with that?
Are you using an adapter?

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi,

I got a new Sony TV KD XF70 capable of doing 4K@60fps with chroma 4:4:4. I'm connecting it to a radeon R9 270 using the displayport (1.2) and an active dlp->hdmi converter from Plugable and I'm only getting 4K@60fps with chroma 4:2:2 I believe (picture looks crap with small text).
The hdmi cable is brand new (amz basic certified to support hdmi 2.0).

I'm wondering if I can use CRU to force 4:4:4 as the pixel format tab in the radeon settings only shows up for monitors connected with hdmi, not dlp. Unfortunately the 270 only supports hdmi 1.4 I believe which only allows 4k@30fps.

I used to have a samsung 4K monitor which had DLP input and was outputting at 60fps (without artifacts) from the same radeon's DLP.

I'm adding a screenshot just in case

Thanks

What exact converter are you using? It needs to support HDMI 2.0 to get 4:4:4. HDMI 1.4 will only get 4:2:0.

It's a converter from the brand "Plugable", yes it supports hdmi 2.0. from their page:

https://plugable.com/products/dp-hdmi/

"Our active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is capable of supporting up to a 594MHz pixel clock and allow resolutions up to 3840×2160@60Hz (4K)"

"Our adapter has passed the extensive testing requirements necessary for VESA certification, and are compliant with VESA Dual-Mode DisplayPort 1.2, High Bit Rate 2 (HBR2), and HDMI 2.0 standards. The adapter is also AMD Eyefinity compatible."

Export a file from CRU and post it here so I can see if the EDID has 4:4:4.

Sure, here's the .bin file I exported from CRU.

Thanks

edit: I just checked on wikipedia for edid. It says byte 24 contains the available formats. in my case 0xa. bit 4-3 which according to the table means 10 = RGB 4:4:4 + YCrCb 4:2:2.

So that means the adapter doesn't support chroma 4:4:4 ??? or that the TV doesn't ?

edit2: I found these reviews
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcx4VuaW_JY (@3:03)

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x700d
Supported Resolutions

1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes
1080p @ 120Hz: No
4k @ 30Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes
4k @ 60Hz: Yes
4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes

I have a x700f or xf70 which is basically the same model but newer ( the 'd' means 2016 while 'f' means 2018)

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
For about a month or two I'm unable to use CRU with custom resolution. I don't know if it's NVIDIA driver update or newer version of CRU.

I make custom resolution in CRU (I used auto LCD Standard timing before and it worked fine) but it doesn't work anymore. I even did manual and copied timings (which were the same) and whenever I switch to the resolution, my monitor goes out of range. When I do same timings and resolution through NVIDIA control panel it works fine.

Clean install of Windows 10 1607 LTSB, latest NVIDIA drivers.

I can't think of any reason that would happen. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe the game is trying to set a resolution/refresh rate that no longer exists, but most games would just choose a default resolution/refresh rate. What changes did you make with CRU?

[Image: 9dTcMgG.png] here is what my CRU looks like. I believe I only added 3 Detailed Resolutions @ 75hz.

Put custom resolution you want to run fullscreen with on the very top. (For fortnite I needed the custom resolution to be on the very top of the list to go fullscreen with it)

That's for EDID version 1.4. Your EDID is version 1.3, and HDMI defines YCbCr 4:4:4 in the extension block. I don't see anything wrong with the EDID, and the adapter should support 4K 4:4:4 according to the specs, so I wonder if this is a video card limitation. Does anything change if you delete the "4:2:0 capability map" data block in the extension block?

What monitor? With the NVIDIA control panel, does the resolution still work if you change the standard from "Automatic" to "Manual" with the same timing parameters?

Nope, no change... Deleted the block, run restart64, even rebooted just in case.

Guess I'm out of luck and it's time to upgrade the videocard... been thinking about getting a nvidia card for a while.
