Everything you described is documented in the first post. Read the extension blocks section.

1920x1080 @ 144 Hz won't be listed in CRU if it's a scaled resolution. This is documented under the detailed resolutions section: "The graphics driver will automatically add some common lower resolutions as scaled resolutions."

Thank you, this was exactly it. After I deleted the default extension, changes got applied! By deleting basically all resolutions, I could even delete all the 1920x1080 resolutions with all refresh rates.

"NVIDIA: CRU can only read the first extension block because the driver has a bug that prevents reading additional extension blocks. NVIDIA also does not support default extension blocks, so delete any default extension blocks and add one manually if needed." -> This basically says it but I misunderstood, as I guessed that the first block can be read regardless of the default extension block.
New resolutions added by using CTA-861 or VTB-EXT got listed as new resolutions under PC as I wanted.

My GHPU specs claim I'm supposed to get this resolution (actually 1600) but I do not. I have used the HDMI cable that came with my monitor and even tried different cables. But no. I uninstalled/reinstalled drivers from AMD. My system is Win 8.1. Powercolor doesnt have drivers for Win8.1. I'm stuck at 1920x1080. I'm using AMD official drivers and I don't have a digital port (DP).

I ran CRU and while the resolutions appear (2 slots) in the first box, clicking either and then OK. Restart64 doesn't do anything. The new resolution option doesn't appear anywhere. Is there a workaround? Or is this a Windows limitation?
This is documented under pixel clock limits.
Do you have an english translation on what you're trying to say? I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're saying.

Furthermore, upon further research, my GPU can only output 1920 via HDMi. My monitor doesn't have a dual link DVI connection which the GPU does support at 2560; however, as frustrated and disappointed buyers online have reported, they haven't been able to find a dual link DVI to HDMI adapter. All the current Dual linked DVI/HDMI adapters are incorrectly labled. They only max out to 1920.

Did you make sure to change the refresh rate to 80 Hz in the Windows display settings? What monitor is this? Are you using DisplayPort or HDMI?

This is a Dell U2913WM using DisplayPort, and while it works for my BenQ XL2411Z, it doesn't apply to my Dell monitor for some odd reason.

And I went to the Display adapter properties for the display and it gave no option to switch to a higher refresh rate.

Thank you.

In the first post, in the detailed resolutions section where it lists pixel clock limits, I describe the exact limit you're encountering:

  • AMD HD 7000-series and newer GPUs without HDMI 2.0 support up to 297 MHz. Older GPUs are limited to 165 MHz unless the driver is patched.

How are you setting the FreeSync range to 60-80? That's not a FreeSync monitor.

Both don't have Freesync but I used the default extension block CTA-861 to manually add it in.

I somehow turned on Freesync on the XL2411Z by doing so with 50-60 hz range.

But changing both Freesync and the hz on the U2913WM won't work after applying it in CRU, but oddly using the Radeon Software's custom resolution allowed it to go up to 80hz from 60hz.

The FreeSync data block would only work with HDMI. The driver might be listening to the max pixel clock in the range limits, which CRU does not include by default. Try using the "Edit..." button at the top and increase the max pixel clock, and make sure "Include if slot available" is enabled. Then see if you can add higher refresh rates.

That did the trick for the problem! Thank you!

I am not sure what number I should set it, but I guess 300mhz is enough for now.

So Freesync is only supported via HDMI?

If so, I'll attach HDMI to it and make sure the monitor doesn't set a weird pixel clock limit.
