It's probably using the highest resolution available instead of the native resolution. |

If it does or if it has a dedicated GPU, you have to make sure GPU scaling is enabled in the GPU's control panel if it gives you that option because laptop screens normally don't have scalers and can't display non-native resolutions. The resolution won't change by itself. You have to change the resolution in the Windows display settings, which will give you 15 seconds to confirm the resolution. If you get a black screen, you can just wait and it will change back automatically. If for some reason it's stuck on a black screen, you can boot Windows in safe mode and run reset-all.exe. |

The timing parameters aren't as important with LCD/LED monitors, so use whatever works. CVT-RB is the most commonly supported standard for LCD monitors, so that would be the most compatible. |

Won't this prevent me from enjoying these resolutions on my 4K tv if I play on it via my pc, won't the signal be degraded or lost if I remove them? |

Is it streaming software or a direct connection? If it's a direct connection, each monitor has its own settings, so that wouldn't affect the TV. If it's streaming software and you're playing at 4K on the PC, then it should stream 4K to the TV. If it's streaming software and you're playing at 2560x1440, then it will probably be scaled on the TV. |

Is it streaming software or a direct connection? My TV screen doesn't have a displayport, This is rare and depends on the game. Most of the time, I use the Asus monitor for games, displayport only. In any case, you have clearly answered my questions, thank you very much! |
