RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi guys, I am a new member of forum
I have a strange issue. I have changed laptop's monitor because of dead pixels, but new monitor isn't orininally made for my laptop. I have dell inspiron 5721 and this monitor was other brand's monitor. I have a problem with flickering screen. When I see light colours, sometimes there are small dots on screen. Here are examples : http://s11.radikal.ru/i183/1709/8b/2708739be2b5.jpg http://s011.radikal.ru/i315/1709/ce/7a54beab0f76.jpg http://s019.radikal.ru/i619/1709/c5/6f709a390a6b.jpg Can you help me? What can i do to fix this problem? Thank you in advance |

I am trying to set a resolution of 1920x1080 with a refresh of 47.952 (2 x 23.976) and if I can get that working I'd like to try 71.928. I've created these refresh rates using CRU, and they are available for me to select when changing my adapter settings and monitor refresh rate. I can select them and confirm that MadVR detects I'm running at the refresh rate I've just created. Something isn't working though, since films that are 23.976fps should in theory look the same as they do with my 23.976hz refresh rate, but they look much more choppy. I would like to use these custom refresh rates, if I can get them working properly, to use SVP, as I'd like to eliminate the need for Reclock. Some TVs and monitors are locked to 60 Hz and will skip frames at higher refresh rates (and duplicate frames at lower refresh rates, causing judder). Use this test with a camera to verify: http://www.testufo.com/#test=frameskipping |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello
"ToastyX Wrote:forums.guru3d.comThe problem is most LCD monitors have scalers. Special hardware like scalers actually get in the way of this. That's why many people are seeing their monitors black out when they try this. LCD monitors with scalers are less likely to work without firmware changes because the scalers are usually designed to handle a limited range of refresh rates and timing parameters. That's why the scaler chips need to be updated to support FreeSync.I have V32F390F Samsung monitor (1920x1080 60Hz, HDMI 1.4). After executing the instructions on the first page, FreeSync is activated in the driver. Check in the windmill AMD utility leads to a spontaneous transition of the monitor to 50Hz. At 50Hz, FreeSync runs nice and more smoothly than Vsync. But any other refresh rate lead to black screen. It's the same in games. Vertical Frequency 24 - 72 Hz is indicated in the monitor specs, but any refresh rate (setup in CRU) more than 60Hz on 1920x1080 lead to black screen. Some other resolutions with a refresh rate of less than 60Hz also don't work. Although 1280x1024 75Hz is working fine. Am I understand correctly that scalar is installed on this monitor, and this is the cause of the problems? Are there any solutions in my case? (translated by Google) |

If the monitor supports 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz, you shouldn't have to add it. It should already be listed somewhere, maybe in the extension block. thanks for the reply, its an iiyama 40inch monitor which should support 60hz. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/40-iiyam...hdmi-mhl-v in windows 10 i can click display adapter properties and then list all modes, but the highest refresh rate for 4k resolution is 30hz, when i add higher than 30hz it wont appear..., is this what you mean by extension block? thanks |

I understand that some people did it after all. I began to study this question, because the manual for this monitor contains records about FreeSync. But as it turned out, this applies to model V27F390F only. V32F390F service menu contain FS settings, but they don't change anything concerning of FS support. Does it make sense to flash it with firmware from V27F390F? |
