RE: Overclocking in Mac OSx (Mountain Lion)
Thank you nate and ToastyX! I have it running at 84hz and I do notice a difference.

Thanks again.

Here's my settings and they work at 84Hz. I only checked the box to override the frequency range and then created a custom resolution:

120Hz would look amazing in OS X.

It really would. I'm trying to hold out on installing Windows. Thanks for the pic. Btw, what are your hackintosh specs?

RE: Overclocking in Mac OSx (Mountain Lion)
I'm dual booting with Win 8, for gaming. I have:
i7 2800k Overclocked to 5Ghz
670 GTX
8 GB of DDR3 1600
Western Digital Black 1 TB drive.

I really want to Try OS X running off an SSD. That's my biggest performance limitation now.
Someone help us get 120Hz running on this please.

I'm currently running OS X on a Samsung 840 Pro, and it's amazing. I highly recommend the switch. Looks like a great hackintosh system...it'll be an ever better experience with 120hz Big Grin. I think we'll have to get our hands on an Nvidia driver for mac before we see any refresh rates past 84hz.

RE: Overclocking in Mac OSx (Mountain Lion)
Great news for anyone who wants to remove artificial driver limits in OS X.

I made a patch that removes the 165 MHz pixel clock limit. I can now output 3840x2160 @ 31 Hz from HDMI on my 15" RMBP.

I will be releasing it soon. :-)

Has anyone had any success with getting past the pixel clock limit? I'm dying to get my IPS monitor to run past 84hz refresh rate!
