How does horizontal refresh range tie in with VRR?
Hi all,
I am another purchase of the Samsung Odyssey G7 32". I have used CRU to try and eliminate the flicker to no avail. Under the HDMI section/block it only has the option to change the vertical range but with displayport we have the ability to select both vertical and horizontal ranges. From the factory the 32" G7 has a V range of 60-240 and an H range of 358-358. Firstly, this should be 80-240 for this monitor at 32". I changed this range to 80-240. I then did 240/8 = 3. So I used the range 358/3 = 119 for the horizontal range. Should the horizontal range be tinkered with? For HDMI the option doesn't even exist. On another note... I still don't understand why flicker occurs. It will be almost 2 weeks with this beautiful monitor but it's advertised as flicker free so I must return it. I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue (cannot be solved) or a software/firmware issue. I wish I knew for sure one way or the other. If it's solvable via firmware update I'd definitely keep it. |

You don't need to change the horizontal range. It doesn't affect anything.
