Is this safe to use with CRU?
i have the samsung g9 neo 57 inch which measures around 1300-1400 peaks nits in some reviews. the HDR vesa app shows it as 1500 nits though.

default max luminance is 139 and max frame avg 115 changed both values to 157 (which should equate 1500 nits)

I also followed this guide: and also added this besides the change above i mentioned(not sure if this is overkill to do it twice but...)?
Also should the checkboxes traditional gamma sdr, SMPTE ST 2084 and static metatype 1 be checked? eventhough this users guide says not to?

"for people out there whose peak brightness sliders missing, try these:

remove monitor driver from device manager

open cru and add a new extension block with your peak brightness value

close cru and restart

I don't understand why the guide says to add an extension block. You should edit the HDR static metadata data block in the existing extension block. You shouldn't need to change anything else.

You are using an outdated version of CRU. NVIDIA will ignore all changes if there is a default extension block in the list. Using 1.5.2 should show the second extension block correctly.

The guide is taken from reddit. i didnt write it, the screenshots are his. which i tried to replicate. but i use CRU 1.5.2
I used the second extension block. And the default one.
Can this do damage if i let it stay like this?

RE: Is this safe to use with CRU?
The HDR static metadata data block is informational and wouldn't hurt the monitor, but the guide can't possibly work with NVIDIA as they posted it, so it would have no effect.
