LG G4 connection issues when PC gaming
Hi all,
I'm having connection issues when PC gaming on my LG G4 77" TV. PC Details: Lenovo Legion 7 Pro Laptop CPU: Intel i7 12800HX GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti RAM: 32GB DDR5 Storage: 1TB SSD System Drive & 2TB SSD Game Drive Issue: My laptop keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to my TV whilst gaming, but works fine when doing all other tasks like watching videos, browsing the web, using other apps etc. I can get maybe 10-15 mins of gaming before the TV suddenly goes black and disconnects from the laptop, after a couple of seconds it reconnects often changing the resolution and switching to the desktop with the game still running in the background. It will continue to disconnect and reconnect repeatedly until I quit out of the game. This has happened with every game I've tried. I've uploaded a video of the problem here: https://youtu.be/8N7AN1QRa2E Attempts to Problem Solve the Issue: 1. Trying all HDMI ports on TV 2. Trying different 4k HDMI cables (including those used for my PS5 Pro & Xbox Series X, which work fine with the TV). 3. Turning on and off all Game Optimiser features one at a time, including ALLM, 144Hz, VRR etc. 4. Factory resetting the TV. 5. Turning off SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC) on the TV. 6. Turning off Game Optimiser. 7. Turning Dolby Vision PC on and off. The only thing that has worked is to turn off the Deep Colour setting on the TV under Settings > General > External Devices > HDMI Settings > HDMI Deep Colour. The problem with this is that "Game Optimiser" only works if HDMI Deep Colour is turned on, so I only get 4K 60Hz SDR with a higher latency, which is obviously less than ideal. Has anyone else encountered this issue with their G4 TV and managed to solve it at? Thanks in advance for your help. |

RE: LG G4 connection issues when PC gaming
Try nvidia driver version 566.36 with disabled hdr.
If it fixes your problem then welcome to the club of unfortunate nvidia gpu owners. |

So I take it that just means you have no HDR gaming, but you still get the other game optimiser settings? If so, that's still pretty ridiculous for a £3000+ TV and a £2000 laptop. Half tempted to switch to one of the Samsungs instead. Never had any connection problems with them. I also have a small problem with my ps5 Pro where despite VRR being turned on on both the TV and the console, the TV says it's off when gaming. I get the occasional screen tear, but nothing horrific. |

Problem very likely is not TV but current Nvidia graphic driver which causes display malfunctions when both HDR and VRR are enabled. |
