Looking for a monitor
I am looking for a good 60hz monitor that can overclock past the 75hz range. My current monitor goes out of range if I try anything higher and I assume there is no way around that?
Well on to the point. I have been leaning towards a 120hz monitor for a while now but their prices don't seem to be dropping at all. Considering they are still using 1080p as their max resolution and TN panels instead of IPS/VA etc its hard to justify spending £250 (416 USD) on them. I have heard about the Korean 1440p panels but I was unsure about vat, import fees and warranties involved around them making them a very risky purchase. Unless someone from the UK with experience can shed some light? So here is the question are there any good 60hz panels that overclock to or near 120hz and are available in the UK? Thanks, Jay. |

RE: Looking for a monitor
The Korean 1440p monitors are the only monitors that are overclockable to 120 Hz because they have barebones hardware that will accept any refresh rate.
Most other monitors have built-in firmware limitations that prevent them from running beyond 75-85 Hz, and some even skip frames to limit the output to 60 Hz. The EIZO Foris FG2421 is the only 120 Hz monitor with a VA panel and backlight strobing (like LightBoost): http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc...=MO-004-EO Some HDTVs will accept a 120 Hz signal: http://www.blurbusters.com/overclock/120hz-pc-to-tv/ |
