RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
I believe falkentyne was suggesting a possible workaround for a new version. I'd be very surprised if that worked with the current version Tongue

Would that work though, Toasty? Do you have any other ideas for a workaround?

Why has this even happened? Do you think AMD did this on purpose to prevent us from using your utility?

RE: GeForce 344.11
I cannot seem to get strobelight Beta 4 to work properly with my setup. GeForce 344.11 drive with a GTX 770 card, two Asus VG248 monitors. Intermittently, I can get 1 screen at a time to have lightboost, however, never both screens can have lightboost. Also, often times only 1 screen will work and the other receives no signal.

I keep resetting the refresh rates ("uninstall" in strobelight setup) but that does nothing until I go to NVIDIA control panel and manually change the refresh rates. This will at least ensure I have two screens. As soon as I try to lightboost again, I either lose a screen, or I only get lightboost on one screen and not the other.

Any one else have this problem, or know the solution? Perhaps it's just a driver issue, and I should use an older driver?

Thanks in advance.

Those of you who use AMD cards, try the 14.9.1 Beta drivers that were just released. It may fix your problem.

Thanks for the link, already uninstalled my old one but amd.com is down. I'll post results soon as it finishes.

Edit: IT WORKS WITH 14.9.1 BETA! WOOOO! Download here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles...Notes.aspx

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
There isn't anything I can change in the program to work around the problem. It's a driver issue.

14.9.1 doesn't fix the problem, but using the atiadlxy.dll from 14.7 seems to work.

https://www.monitortests.com/atiadlxy.zip

64-bit Windows: copy atiadlxy.dll to C:\Windows\SysWOW64
32-bit Windows: rename atiadlxy.dll to atiadlxx.dll and copy it to C:\Windows\System32

Alternatively, you can just put the file in the same folder as strobelight.exe if you don't want to replace the one in the system directory.

That's so fuckin' weird, I swear it worked for me all day. ;-; Oh well, least the fix works for me.

Edit: Weird shit, the http://www.testufo.com/#test test gets 82-92Hz on Firefox but works perfectly on Chrome.

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
You can go and tell AMD how they have to write their drivers so that the strobelight works perfect with our games. :-)

I gave AMD already hundrets and hundrets of euro's and now they make a shitty driver so that i cannot use the power of my monitor....grrrrr. :-(

Well, the new nvidia 970 GTX looks very fine... :-))

I think i will wait with a new card until AMD has lauched their new generation of cards and then i will take a look at their drivers.

DP with 120hz does not work, 2nd monitor does not work. Strobelight does (not) work, the cards are always very hot and/or loud. And and and. I think there is a 75% chance that i go back to nvidia. I would like to give my money to AMD but their CPU's and now their GPU's are not the best in the world any longer. And only cheaper prices are not enough over a long time.

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
Cannot get to work on Nvidia 344.11 with GTX 970. Which is a fine card; not very loud, not very hot. Haven't played with OC settings yet.

Was working fine with GTX770, 3xVG248QE. After the card upgrade and the resulting driver upgrade strobelight appears to have no effect. When I re-initialize displays they go blank as before, but don't come back in lightboost mode. Strobelight thinks that they are. They are still running 120hz but motion blur tests show no lightboost.

Edit: I am not running Surround at the moment, just triple desktop display.
