getting AOC u2868 to 60hz 4k
Hi,

I've been trawling the web for info on how to get my AOC u2868pqu to run at 3840 x 2160 @ 60hz

Card: Amd 7900 series
Cat version 14.9
Windows 7
HDMI cable

The default is 30hz for the monitors 4k res, I've tried using the CRU programme but the option of 60hz doesn't appear in the windows screen refresh rate box after system restart, only 30hz, lesser hz only appeared after I cleared the other options. I've also tried the required res as the only detailed res option.
Catalyst reverts back to 1920 x 1080 for 60hz when altering desktop properties

any advice, what am I missing?

thanks

sorry for the double post a database error appeared & I wasn't sure if it posted

It's not going to happen on a 7900-series card with HDMI. 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz requires DisplayPort or HDMI 2.0. I don't think any AMD cards support HDMI 2.0 yet.

ahhh, that'll be why I cant find anything, thanks for the reply.

Excuse my ignorance but would using another format such as DVI make a difference?

Dual-link DVI could handle it with overclocking, but I doubt the monitor will accept the signal. Your best bet is DisplayPort.

RE: getting AOC u2868 to 60hz 4k
Latest:
got the monitor hooked up via display port to a R9 290x,
60hz shows up within the options, problem is when 60hz is selected the monitor goes nuts - popping noises, flickering/tearing & screen shuts down until windows reverts to previous settings.
30hz is fine, no issues at all so im not thinking its faulty hardware?
I've tried various HZ over 30 via the CRU, but anything I've tried so far over 30 has the same effect
I've tried the latest catalyst beta drivers after reading a suggestion on another forum, no change.

Any suggestions?
