If I create custom resolution, it's only showing GPU in Nvidia Control Panel's scalling options
Display scaling is supposed to be available if there are any non-native resolutions, but something is screwed up with NVIDIA's scaling logic because it's sometimes not available when it should be, and I haven't figured out what conditions make it available.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi ToastyX!
Thank you very much for your free software!
I read your guide in the first post and have been using it in the last hour trying to change the resolution of my notebook screen but I'm not able to do it.
I tried both increasing and lowering it, also changing the refresh rate but nothing happened.
This is my configuration https://i.imgur.com/zhU8nrF.png
basically I've just edited the first default Detailed resolution changing it to 800x600 and changing 60 to 70Hz, then I run both restart and restart64, even restarted the notebook but nothing happened, am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for my probably dumb question.

Just for information I have an HP pavilion m6 1060sl (Intel 4000 + AMD Radeon HD 7670M) with i5-3210M, I also did what it is written in the section "Alternative method for Intel GPUs" about the EDID installer.

Hi ToastyX.
Thank you very much for your free software.

You gave a new life to my LG 32 TV from 2013, thank you.
I find your CRU program wonderful.
I have read a lot but one thing is not clear to me, I have an RX580 with HDMI 2.0 output, the HDMI cable is 2.1 and the TV is HDMI 1.4B.
The question is if I leave the TDMS at 340 if what commands is the limitation of the HDMI1.4B of the TV, or sends the HDMI 2.0 of the RX.
It lets me add the HDMI 2.x block and it doesn't give me a problem, but if I limit the 1.4b to 340, doesn't it make sense to set the TDMS to 600?

Thank you very much and greetings.

The HDMI 1.4 spec doesn't support more than 340 MHz, and HDMI 2.0 uses the maximum character rate in the HDMI 2.0 data block, which is normally 600 Mcsc, so the maximum TMDS clock doesn't need to be set to 600 MHz. Changing the values only tells the driver what the TV supports. It doesn't send any commands to the hardware.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
So Toasty I have a question. I'm using my 49" CX primarily as a monitor, and I've read the changes for version 1.5. Which timing should I use for custom resolutions then? Native or Automatic? PC vs HDTV? Oh and if it matters, I'm using your patched CX dat file with the 48gbs mod. I also have the RTX 3090 FE.

Really it doesn't matter as long as it works. "Automatic (HDTV)" uses standards that are more likely to work with HDTVs like the CX. "Native" can help when trying other refresh rates if "Automatic" doesn't display correctly. For non-TV resolutions like 2560x1440, "PC" and "HDTV" use the same timing parameters.

Ok sounds good, thanks! I edited my current custom resolutions and just made em "Automatic (HDTV)" and it works as intended.

You're probably not doing anything wrong. EDID overrides don't work on some laptops with Intel GPUs, or they only work with external monitors. I don't have enough information to determine the exact requirements.
