RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello, I want to increase the resolution on a hp probook 455g1 laptop, AMD radeon HD 7640g + HD 8750M Dual Graphics, 7 windows. I tried to set the resolution to 1600/900 in CRU, and 1440/900, nothing comes out, when switching to a dark screen .. tried different settings, it does not help. Please tell me what to do? send a photo, if not difficult, as it should be set in the settings, or discard the post with a suitable solution, thanks in advance.

As i know rx580 support display port 1.3 and 1.4 but when i set 3840x2160 resolution , there is only 2 options to turn on 10 bit with amd driver , is works with 98Hz refresh rate, if i set 99Hz or more is automaticaly return color to 8 bit.DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 HBR3 only supports up to 1080 MHz pixel clock at 8 bpc and 864 MHz at 10 bpc. Anything beyond that requires display stream compression (DSC), which your GPU does not support. With HDMI, anything beyond 600 MHz pixel clock requires HDMI 2.1, which your GPU does not support. Both issues would be resolved with a newer GPU. |

To use higher resolutions, you'll need to enable AMD's Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) in the Radeon Software settings. If that's not available, then it's not supported for your GPU. |

Thanks for the answer, I will unsubscribe if I can turn on the VSR, it should be, if I'm not mistaken.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I have a Lenovo laptop with integrated graphics when I attempt to downscale and increase refresh rate the screen goes black. I know this is an issue with limits for integrated graphics however, I was wondering if you knew any workarounds for laptop users with intel integrated graphics as going to 62hz on 1920 causes issues.
Thank you for your time! |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi.
I am using VGA monitors (X224W) which goes up to 1680x1050 with DP to VGA "el cheapo" adapters. Thanks to CRU it it working, i had to copy the setting from the monitor connected to an other PC with VGA output. I am using RX470 AMD GPU. Now i have one last problem, in the screen resolution dialog from window 10 it still shows 1920x1080. It is not supported by the monitor, deleted in CRU. I think it may be supported by the DP to VGA cable. How to remove this resolution? To explain why i need to remove it, i want to use eyefinety 3 screen setup where the central monitor have 1920x1080 (or more) and then eyefinety changes the resolution of side screens to 1920x1080 which is not supported by the side screens and shows "OUT OF RANGE". |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi,
Thanks to CRU I am able to get Windows to use the other resolutions my 4K Smart TV supports, including changing the active signal resolution to match chosen desktop resolution and unlocking the HDR on 1440p , so thank you. My one last final problem is, how do I prevent Windows from force loading their PNP generic monitor driver/prevent it forcing 8 bit bpc 60hz after every reboot? the EDID of the TV using CRU and Advantiv EeditZ shows it only supports 10,12,16 bit bpc. makes sense because when it is on 8 bit bpc, the HDMI gives on screen green lines and other flickers and artifacts. I have tried changing all detailed res and HDMI res to be 64hz and removed all 60hz, and even manually selected 10,12,16 bpc with both sets of software and restarted the drivers using CRU. The current workaround is I just change in the win OS advanced display settings from 60hz to 64hz and the display changes back to the 10bpc custom driver set by CRU The TV is Chiq U43H10 but it lacks a data sheet online or even PC drivers Any ideas? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi,
I have 3 32" monitors connected via DP to my PC, now i want to use these 3 monitors in surround, which works, but only at 4k, is there a way i can make it possible with CRU that i can use these 3 monitors in surround at a lower resolution like 1080 or 1440? I looked at the extension block should i delete the 4k resolution in detailed resolutions(second resolution is 1440p)? Thanks! |
