Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)

Great Utility. I'm gonna donate ASAP, no CC and no money on my Paypal account ATM.

Strange thing is, i can establish new refresh rates on my secondary display only while the primary stays always at 60Hz.

My JTC TV runs always 75Hz as secondary even when present at boot, my LG 55LA6608 runs 75Hz only if it is switched on after booting.

Both are connected via DVI over HDMI with Adapters. I ran reset-all and edited the first detailled resolutions in both fresh entries, tried also to set everything in there to 75Hz accordingly, tried with the first detailled resolutions only (deleted the rest) and booted with minimum services (Microsoft defaults only).

System is Windows 7 Ultimate 64, AMD 7970 Catalyst 13.4

I was wondering if anyone can advise me:

I use to have 660ti SLI and ran at 120hz no problem
Switched to 280x CF and ran at 120hz no problem
Switched to 780 SLI and I'm getting 1-2 small flicker lines at 120hz, but everything is fine at 115hz.


I tried reduced timings, but still get that 1-2 lines

That is a signal quality problem. If you have the QNIX or X-Star, try setting the totals to 2652x1445. If that doesn't help, try another DVI port, or try connecting the monitor to the other card.

Switching to different DVI port worked.

which is weird because it was connected to DVI D dual link and now its connected to DVI I dual link

What does this mean? Is 75 Hz not getting listed? Are you keeping the pixel clock under 165 MHz? If not, does patching the driver make a difference? You can also try the "LCD reduced" timing option to keep the pixel clock under 165 MHz at 75 Hz.

Hi everybody.

I have a Philips Monitor and I'm having a resolution problem.
The screen image is very sharp (letters, images..) and I don't know how to fix it.
I was able to fit the screen into my monitor with CRU + Nvidia tools but now I can't seem to fix the resolution.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Pixel clock is 164.61 MHz for both displays. 75Hz gets listed for the secondary display of an extended desktop, whichever this is. If i switch main/extended and reboot 75Hz gets listed for the other one. Disabling all non Microsoft Services made no difference.

Huge noob here, so sorry for all inevitable mistakes in what i say. So, i want to render at a higher resolution than what my monitor is able to do (Samsung SMBX2235 1080p) and i don't really understand how to do it. I start CRU, it already has a detailed res defined (native one i suppose) so i add a new one. I use the auto standar LCD timing and a ****x**** res that is higher than 1920x1080 (and is 16:9). No matter what res i setup there, after restart i still can't see it / use it. What am i doing wrong?
