Hello everyone,

I have a PC connected to a Philips 4K TV (50pus8505) via HDMI. I would like to change my videocard to play at 1440p but when I'm trying to switch to that resolution I can see that the active signal becomes 4K instead of 2K:

It's possible to do any configuration for my TV to support 1440p?

Update, i just reinstalled windows 10 from the begining and same result. I just installed armoured crate, drivers and nvidia drivers 531.68 noting else.

Update 2. I managed to make it work but i don't know how because i was trying so much stuff.

- I went back to driver 531.61
- On bios i forced Gen4 on PCIe
- I change Display Port 1, to 2, i mean the wire. Then i saw 2 monitors on CRU, so i removed tv resolutions and copy paste the configuration to both monitors CRU showed.
- It worked, then i switched to DP1 and it worked too.
- Then i updated to 531.68 and still works.



So i don't know what is the problem. Maybe my GPU is doing something weird with Display Ports? it is a new GPU 4070.

I still have problems with my setup.

I have the Benq 27" 1440p 144hz on display port and random DVI 1200p 60hz monitor on HDMI port ( i have bought a dp to dvi wire).

GPU is 4070. Seems that i have fixed the Benq problem by removing tv resolutions on all 3 monitors CRU showed.
I can connect the second monitor, all works fine, but if i reboot, i get black screen, not just black screen, i always get the PC crash. I can only reboot and boot in safe mode.
But if i boot with only the Benq on DP i can boot ok.

I have a puzzler. I have a 2048x1152 monitor that I am able to use 23.976 Hz on at the resolution of 1920x1080.

I haven't had success at doing the same at native resolution. I didn't set up the parameters for 1080p, it just works and not from the graphics driver because there are no custom resolutions defined. My assumption is that they were already defined in the blocks.

Is it possible for me to reach 23.976 Hz at 2048x1152 instead of 1920x1080?

Horizontal frequency range.......30-92 kHz
Vertical frequency range.........56-85 Hz

I'm also puzzled because if the vertical frequency range is 56-85 Hz, then how am I going lower than that? 23.976, 24, 25, etc. all work at 1080p.

It's possible to do any configuration for my TV to support 1440p?

That means the resolution is being scaled by the GPU. If your TV can display 1440p, then you can add it as a detailed resolution using CRU, and it will be sent to the TV if GPU scaling is disabled.

This is an NVIDIA driver bug and should be reported to them. The black screen is the driver crashing, not a resolution issue as you've figured out.

The monitor might only allow lower refresh rates for TV resolutions like 1920x1080 to support 24/25/30 Hz, so it might not be possible at the native resolution.

I've tried but not working... the image becomes small and there is a text in one side of the screen that says "Resolution not supported"...

GPU/TV Scaling is not active

TV native resolution is 1080p... any solution or it's impossible to get that resolution working?

If the TV doesn't support 1440p, then you'll have to use GPU scaling.

When i reboot with 2 monitor installed, it is obviously a driver crash cause it even turn off the keyboard. The PC completely freeze.

If i unplug the 60hz monitor from hdmi port it will boot no problem.

Do you think we could find a fix? Should i try older drivers?

I bought a dp-dvi wire to try to connect the 60hz monitor to dp instead of hdmi.

Hi,

I have multiple displays and when I turn one or more of them off, Windows will notice this and will change the monitor settings to exclude this monitor from the layout. This causes all windows to be moved and having to put them back when I turn the screen back on is very annoying.

So what I want is that Windows doesn't notice when one of the monitors turns off. I did some googling and it seems that maybe if the monitors' EDIDs are fixed, Windows won't notice when they're off. So in CRU I exported the monitor settings and then imported them again in order to make them fixed. Unfortunately, Windows still notices as soon as a monitor gets disconnected.

The monitors are connected through DisplayPort, but I've seen similar issues when they were connected through HDMI. GPU is an Nvidia 4080.

Maybe what I'm trying isn't possible or maybe I'm doing it wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
