To clear some things out, the PC that died was my newer i7-6700K one, but I think there was a problem with the GA-Z170X-UD5 TH (rev. 1.0) motherboard, as it didn't see any videocard I would put in it, but it has powerful onboard graphics so I used it with no problem for 4K 60hz without videocard. The PC that has the 1050ti and that I use to get 8K is my old PC with Gigabyte with a AMD PhenomII X4 955. Now I have been tinkering a bit today and suddenly I got the 5120x2880 30hz working. So I made some progress here! But then it turned out the 7860x4320 was gone and the Nvidia control panel said the 7860x4320 was not supported by my monitor. Then when going into the system settings of the TV, I switched on the 'Game Mode' and restarted. And there was my 7860x4320 again, but the 5120x2880 was gone... So I think I'll keep on tinkering a bit more in the coming days and weeks, until I see some pattern emerging in this madness, and then I will come back to this thread. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hey, Toasty.
Thanks for CRU, you're the GOAT. I have a 60Hz monitor. I created a custom resolution with 75Hz a while ago, and it was sufficient for me. No issues, artifacts, distortion; it was perfect. I used it for a while, and recently, I decided to test the monitor's limits. At 79Hz, everything is normal. At 81Hz, I get no video signal. Okay, it seems I found the limit. I created a resolution with 80Hz, and everything is "normal" except for some "black bars" at the bottom and top of the image (see the attached image). They're not as large as the ones in movies, but enough to concern me. It doesn't present any other problems, and games display normally. What do you think? Should I keep it at 80Hz with these black bars, or do they indicate that something's wrong? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Any resolution and refresh rate above 165mhz pixel clock doesn't work on my 6600XT sadly, even after patching the driver (23.8.2) and making an Extension Block with 340mhz HDMI support. I'm using hdmi-dvi cable and my monitor is BenQ Gl2450.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello everyone,
I'm new here, so please excuse me if I'm bothering you unnecessarily... But I really need help - I need to achieve a screen resolution of approximately 8200x2200. My computer has an RTX 3070 graphics card. Is there a chance to achieve such a result, and how can I do it? |
