So what would be the industry recognized term for what CRU calls "standard resolutions" in the EDID? I'm trying to use the right term for when I submit a bug report to AMD that mine aren't working correctly

Basically, my 6800 XT is having an issue where it uses reduced timings for "standard resolutions", which looks wrong on my CRT.

In the past, on other GPUs, standard resolutions would utilize GTF or CVT standard, as far as I could tell, because they looked correct.

I actually had this issue on my 5700xt but AMD fixed it at some point. But I guess the problem remained on the 6000 series.

It's the standard timing block in the EDID. I don't think AMD is expecting anyone to use CRT monitors since they don't have analog outputs anymore. The new CVT standard removed CRT timings completely.

What GPU? What driver version? If NVIDIA, make sure there are at least 2 bytes left for data blocks in the CTA-861 extension block. Max luminance and max frame average luminance can be the same.

Hello, my GPU is a RTX 4080 (Nvidia), set to their absolute latest driver. Okay great, my Max Luminance and max frame average luminance are both set to 127 (790 nits) for my C9.

I am not certain how to make sure at least 2 bytes are left for data blocks in the CTA-861 extension block. Is this a setting or some number I am setting somewhere in CRU? I am guessing this will either help in general setup or get my 8K AVR to recognize the CRU setup?

CRU tells you how many bytes are left in the data block list in the extension block. NVIDIA's driver has a bug that causes it to ignore all changes if there aren't at least 2 bytes left.

Just delete something you don't need such as two TV resolutions.

Okay, I will try that, thanks! Hopefully it will set the correct brightness for the AVR.
