Game Master mode on TCL 50C735
Hi,
i just bought this TV only for PC Games: https://www.displayspecifications.com/fr/model/9a852c21 So a quick sum, the TV is HDMI 2.1 and the panel is 4k@144Hz capable. When connected to my computer (RTX3090), i only have 60Hz resolutions. So i try CRU to get 4k@120hz with no luck. I only can get 1080p@120Hz. I notice this in MonInfo on all 3 HDMI ports: Code: Timing characteristics After a call to TCL hotline, the guy told me that this resolution is only supported when a game console is detected (aka xbox series X or PS5) and then the TV switch "Game master" mode on (aka "game mode" for LG or Samsung). I dont have next gen game console, so i can't test it. I've attached moninfo result and dump of the TV EDID. If someone can point me the right direction to get this TV at 4k@120Hz with a PC... Thank you. |

RE: Game Master mode on TCL 50C735
I don't see anything on TCL's site that says the 50C735 supports 4K @ 144 Hz, only the 55/65/75C735.

RE: Game Master mode on TCL 50C735
You can set 4K @ 120hz under Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll down to PC -> 3840x2160 and select 120Hz.
I20Hz won't be available if you're using Ultra HD, HD, SD resolution. You have to scroll below to PC category. Secondly, I'm using 55C735 and I can't use 144Hz at all in any resolution so I don't know if it's false marketing from TCL. |

I'm was about to get this for my PC, but just now I've learned it can be a waste of money if I wont be able to use the gaming features properly. I would like your opinion on whether I should go ahead with it if I dont have an xbox/ps5 ... |

I just got the 55C735 yesterday, plugged it to my PC running RTX2080S. I scrolled down to PC category and can only see max 2k res at 120hz. When i chose that option, the picture is not clear and out of scale. So i am forced to use the native 3840x2160@60hz under Ultra HD, HD, SD Resolution. I am also afraid that it is simply false advertisement from TCL and they neglected to mention that the maximum refresh rates is only for gaming consoles and not for PC. Any tips you can give me so i can run at least 120hz please? I will be content with 120hz if i cannot reach 144hz, at least it will be loads better than 60hz. Thanks. |

Sadly, i have not found a workaround for it. Nvidia control panel only lists 2560x1440@120hz, but i cannot use that as it looks distorted and very blurry. Do you think it is my HDMI cable? It does say HDMI 2.1 though, and i have tried another HDMI cable, not sure what version that is, but to the same results. I have also tried the second HDMI port which says 4k@120hz, still the same, stuck at 4k@60hz. I am running Windows 10 64bit, RTX 2080S. Latest drivers. |

Hi guys, i have just upgraded my graphics card to RTX 4070 TI and it has fixed the problem. I can now scroll down in nvidia control panel to see 4k 120hz. It turned out that my previous graphics card only had HDMI 2.0 and thus the culprit. |

For anybody still struggling with this, you CAN get game mode and 144 hz Here are the steps I took 1. Check your HDMI cord, you cant really tell if they're 2.1 a lot of the time. I just got a good cheap one from Monoprice. Make sure your HDMI port on your TV says 144hz 2. In your TV settings go to Channels & Inputs -> Inputs -> scroll down and set HDMI mode to HDMI 2.1. Go back to settings and go to system -> Game Mode -> and set your HDMI port to on 3. Like Johnteaser said, go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll down to PC -> 3840x2160 and select 120Hz 4. G-SYNC needs to be on. Go to NVIDIA Control Panel -> Set up G-SYNC -> Turn on "Enable G-SYNC" and "Enable settings for selected display model" This is what got it working for me. If it doesn't work, try restarting your PC, you may have to try a few times. For some reason, there are issues with recognizing the TV the same way every time. I believe the issue is a missing extension block that contains the 144hz resolutions, which doesn't get loaded every time the PC and TV connect. I don't know the cause, but my PC randomly picks up my TV as either "Beyond TV" or "Beyo TV". There was a profile in CRU for each, but only one had an extension block called DisplayID 1.3 which had the 144hz resolutions. I exported the profile that had it to my desktop and imported it back into the one that was missing the extension block and haven't had issues since. |
