Same goes for when I turn on the 120Hz in the nVidia Control Panel and then start a game, same scenario. Black flicker. This is happening with the blank-extension.dat file? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hey Toast!
I've been using CRU since I got my korean monitor a while back, and I finally got 2 more for triple screen. To make this work I had to get a DP to DLDVI adapter. Whichever monitor I use it for ends up losing it's resolutions I add. I use CRU to add 96 and 100hz to all three monitors, reload, then when I check the monitor with adapter has only 60hz option. Does this not work with powered adapters? I'm using AMD if it matters. Here is the adapter I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XYBA72/?tag=mtests-20#ad Please tell me I didn't waste money on it... |

Did you read the first post? The default extension block has never worked with NVIDIA, and disabling the extension block triggers a bug in the driver that requires removing GeForce Experience. The blank-extension.dat file works around both problems. |

If that works, then you're running into pixel clock limits. Keep in mind that DisplayPort has different limits depending on the data rate, and the adapter might not support the full DisplayPort bandwidth. The only dual-link DVI adapter I know that can handle higher pixel clocks is this one: Accell B087B-007B DisplayPort to DVI-D Dual-Link Adapter with 3D Support |

Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
A customer review for that adapter claims that it supports up to 96Hz. Though details about timings are not given. Personally, I would connect it to ONE screen first to identify the max OC the adapter can handle, and only then move on to multiple displays at once

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi all
I have problem with nvidia surround. I tried edit Nv surround resolution "virtual monitor"in CRU - but CRU does not allow me to put resolutions like 5760x1080 - its red and no OK possiiblity. Why? I see there already resolution 380..x1048 which is resolution what nvidia giving me when I turn on surround.. but I dont want it. I want 3x Full HD. How to use CRU to edit resolution for nvidia surround directly? Thanks |

You're supposed to add the custom resolution separately for each monitor and then enable Surround to combine them into one virtual monitor, but that doesn't even work anymore because EDID overrides haven't worked properly with Surround since 331.40, and NVIDIA still has not fixed the problem. If your monitors are 1920x1080, they should already be working at the proper resolution anyway. |

well my problem is, one of monitors cant work 1920x1080 @ 59 or 60hz.. only at 58hz. When I used CRu to set all monitors to 58hz.. nvidia surround offered me 5760x1080.. but somehow was not working.. was unable to apply it.. it just do sound like device detected but nothing. When I tried 1440x1080@60hz + 2x 1920x1080 @ 60hz.. nvidia telling me its not possible due to different setting.. or something like that - probably because timings. (138.53 vs 106.66 mhz) Weird is, yesterday I was able to play at 3800x1024 (+-) but that was 1280x1024+FHD+1280x1024 setup. dont know why its not working with 1080 setting. edit: well seems nv surround is absolutely broken at me.. trying install new drivers.. it refused to work even on 3 same setups 1680x1050@60hz.. it just does not apply. |

Ok so I did this, and the resolutions end up showing around 85hz and lower. I tested 75hz to be perfectly stable, and 76hz and up would introduce a pink one or two pixel wide line down the right vertical edge of the screen. I tried a bit of mucking around with the more advanced pixel settings, like adding extra to the backporch and/or total pixels, but nothing seems to get rid of the darn pink vertical line. Have you had experience with removing this via adding more to the total horizontal pixel count? I ran triple 1440p @75hz perfect all day. Rebooted and now even 75hz has the pink vertical line. Wondering if it can be tuned out? Thank you so much for your time! |
