Force disable all Interlaced resolutions on HDMI. Is that possible with EDID?
Hello, I'm facing a quite annoying problem with my LG TV. By some matter when I'm running on fullscreen a game that uses DX10 or DX11, the image gets interlaced and there is no way I know to disable that (it only happens in fullscreen mode).
Running Intel HD Control Panel on a second monitor I noticed that the frequency changes when going fullscreen from 60p Hz to 59i Hz, even when the game says it's at 60Hz. This effect doesn't happens if the game uses DX9 or less. Have tried already all kind of notebooks and computers and they were having all the same issue with this TV and DX10/11. The only way I know to overcome the problem right now: Sometimes I can manage to fix it with this hacky trick.. I've been fiddling around with the Intel Control Panel. I started a DX11 game which was switching to Interlaced mode, then I minimized the game, switched to 60p Hz mode in the Intel Control Panel, and then to 50p Hz mode. Now Intel Control Panel shows me a countdown where I should press "OK" to keep the current mode, but I ignore it and switch to the game. When the game goes fullscreen, the 59i Hz mode is set again. But then the times times out and switches back to 60p Hz mode while the game is still in full screen mode and voilá. The game is running in Non-interlaced mode. I don't really need the interlaced modes, so I was just asking myself if it's possible to disable ALL interlaced resolutions from EDID to force it to use allways Non-Interlaced modes? I was trying to achieve that with CRU, but I couldn't find the interlaced modes as they are in some "EIA/CEA-861 Information" section wich I cannot edit, or just don't know how to edit. Does somebody know how to disable Interlaced modes for HDMI or some EDID patch to disable it? Here the MonInfo extract: Code: Monitor Hope there is something that could be done. Greetings. P.D: Just noticed that in the "EIA/CEA-861 Information" section there is first the Interlaced 1080 resolution... Detailed timing #1....... 1920x1080i at 60Hz (16:9) and.. Detailed timing #3....... 1920x1080p at 60Hz (16:9) Would it be possible to somehow swap them? Not sure if that would help, but maybe it just detects the interlaced 1080 first. |

If Intel supported EDID overrides, you could use CRU to disable the extension block (which also disables audio), or you could import the hdmi-audio.dat file to include audio support without any other resolutions. That's supposed to take precedence. |
