Display Timing for Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ needed!
Hello

i got the Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ and try to configure following Video-Timings:

- 1680x1050@120Hz (with 129Khz vertical Timing, also called 2D-Mode for Desktop, reading somewhere in a forum)

AND

- 1680x1050@100Hz

For your info, its connected to a PPC-Motherboard with Radeon 6570HD and AmigaOS4.1 with newest RadeonHD-Driver.

1680x1050@120Hz with 185Khz which i found the Timing-informations in this forum is running for some minutes, but the OS and/or the Driver isn´t build for 3D-Stuff so it don´t show the Mousepointer and crashing after some time.

I Need the Timing-Sync-Sizes and Polarities for horizontal/vertical.

Here are some screenshots with the Buggy and under AmigaOS4.1 not correct working 3D-Mode:

The Tool:

The Testscreen:

I tried some Video-Timing-Calculating-Websites, but it doesn´t work. It seems this Monitor have some strange Timings.

You should be able to use any standard timing parameters. The problem is you set the front porch/sync start positions to 0, which isn't right.

This is what the Samsung 2233RZ uses for 100/110/120 Hz:

FrameSize: 1840 1080
BorderSize: 0 0
Position: 48 3
SyncSize: 32 6
SyncPolarity: + +

Wow, it works perfectly, a really big thank for that! Big GrinHeart
Its nice that people can help each other over a wide range of Operating-Systems!

I will build up a Monitorfile for AmigaOS and Upload it to os4depot.net and aminet and you will be credited of course (if you want!).

But one last Question, i try to build up a special Screenmode for playing old Amiga-PAL-Games. On AmigaOS4.1 there is a PPC-JIT-Enabled E-UAE part of the OS. I found out that the resolution of 640x525 is the perfect Setting for it when Scanlines are activated in the Emulator. Otherwise the graphics looks to blocky and with the Scanline it really looks like an original Amiga-PAL-Monitor. Big Grin
And we need 100Hz VBlanc for fitting the 50Hz of the PAL-Output perfectly. So E-UAE has to draw each Frame twice.

I know that the vertical resolution of 525 lines is uneven. But when i use 480 lines the graphic screen output of the Emulator is cropped. On 600 lines you got black borders on top and bottom on this Monitor.

Maybe the 2233zr is able to do 640x525 in 100Hz, but with the Sync-Settings of the Native-Resolution you mentioned above it doesn't work in this small resolution.

Maybe you can give me here one last Hint or Tip for the correct Settings.

It would be Awesome.

You'd have to adjust the FrameSize. Try 800 550. The other settings don't need to be changed. If that doesn't work, the monitor probably doesn't support it.
