I haven't bought a new computer yet, I'm still using the Asus ROG GL552VW with a GTX 960M 2GB (no DisplayPort).

I was told by asus support that my computer supported 120Hz over HDMI. Both the monitor and my computer have HDMI 1.4.

I already tried to use this tool, but unsuccessfully...
What did you try? What happened as a result?

Nothing happened... I could only see the default 60Hz on the screen settings and on Intel Graphics Settings...

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
hello, i have a problem,
monitor - https://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-sy...ies/specs/
video card - nvidia gtx 750 ti
issue:
after running patcher.exe, then CRU (added a 1680x1050 [native] resolution but with 74hz) it doesn't work correctly - when i launch overwatch (or try using it in windows) the resolution stretches out of the screen and so i see only half'ish of the screen.
i tried switching between render scale in nvidia control panel, using different timings in CRU, don't know what else did i try.... did a lot of testing with different stuff. I hope you understood what i wrote here Big Grin thank you in advance.
EDIT: i tried out 70hz, it's less stretched. less hz, less stretching for some reason x.x
EDIT2: with 65hz i only see 1/4 of the screen, it's stretched horizontally and vertically...
EDIT3: i added my native resolution with 75hz in "standard resolutions" and it works perfectly, no scaling problems. altho it isn't recommended?

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I recently bought a Sony 75x900e and I was able to get 1080p and 1440p 120hz to work from the Custom resolutions in the Nvidia Control panel, but 1440p comes out looking blocky? It works and is verified in the UFO test, plus I can see the difference simply by scrolling, but the blockiness I suspect is from wrong timings? 1440p@60hz looks so much better, is there any way to fix this?

I would also like help getting 4k@120hz to work, whether at 8bpc 4:2:2 for HDR, or 4:2:0 if that's not possible. This fits within the bandwidth constraints of HDMI 2.0, including overhead. 4k120hz was previously possible with the older Sony 4k models.

That's your TV's scaler doing that. It might only be able to scale at 120 Hz using integer scaling.

Not currently possible.

I normally don't recommend it because it's similar to using the "CRT standard" timing option, which often puts the pixel clock above common limits, but if it works for you, then it's fine to use standard resolutions.

I need details. Show me what you tried.

You shouldn't need to add the native resolution unless there's a problem with the EDID. What GPU do you have? Show me a screen shot of CRU.

This PJ won’t accept anything above a 4k60 4.2.0 8 bit signal, and that’s why I use an HDfury linker to downsample the HDR. Problem is, I can’t seem to get HDR and the custom res to work; it only wants to work in 4k. Is CRU the tool I need to make this work? Can I somehow force HDR with this custom resolution?
HDR might only work with TV resolutions. I don't have a way to test this myself.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Is there no way to add a TV resolution data block for 4k@120hz chroma 4:2:0?

There is currently no code for 4K @ 120 Hz.
