I don't know why newer AMD cards have this issue, but I can't do anything about it. This seems like a driver bug that AMD would need to fix. Damn... well thanks for your help. Lots of people are having other issues with these cards too such as stuttering and massive FPS drop even on low demanding games (as I have). To anyone reading and thinking about getting the RX 5700/XT, I recommend you look carefully at the forums such as on Reddit first to see if the driver issues have been resolved (the patch notes are not accurate!). Given this and my other issues I will probably be returning mine. |

RE: Strobelight - LightBoost Utility for AMD/ATI and NVIDIA
Hey Toasty, thanks so much for creating Strobelight, it has been a great help over the years!
Unfortunately however, I just purchased an RTX2060 super which I didn’t realise came without a DVI port. I purchased a DisplayPort to DVI adaptor and the monitor (VG27HE) seems to function at 144hz with the cable and adaptor but when I activate a strobed refresh rate (100hz), it works and shows “3D mode” on the monitor menu but the image is stretched so I can only see the left side of the image with the right half of the image off screen. The monitor also says the cable is wrong and I need to use the dual link dvi cable that came with the monitor (which I am, just with the adaptor plugged into the pc first). Is there any way that I can get this working with the current setup? Failing a solution with what I have, I’ll need to either sell the card I just purchased and get a 2060 super with a DVI port or purchase an active converter (the adaptor I purchased actually said it was active but wasn’t one of those super expensive ones). If I can’t get the setup I have working, would either of these solutions work do you think? |

The monitor will not display a strobed resolution correctly without dual-link DVI. You would need one of those expensive active DisplayPort to dual-link DVI converters with USB for power, but I wouldn't recommend it because you won't be able to unlock LightBoost with the adapter if the monitor loses power, but you could use an HDMI-DVI cable to unlock LightBoost if that happens. It'd be better to get a card with dual-link DVI, or get a newer monitor with strobing capability. |

Do you have any idea if the XL2546 monitor is likely to be as smooth with Dyac as the VG27HE with Lightboost? The other monitors that I’m looking are the XG258Q (ELMB) and the PG258Q (ULMB). From what I’ve read, the XL2546 seems to be the best option in terms of current strobed displays. Would you recommend one of those over the others or something else at 1080p 24” with eliminating motion blur as much as possible being the main priority? I can’t figure out which technology is best for eliminating motion blur and not many people seem to know much about it. |

The only issue is whether the monitor has overdrive that causes inverse ghosting. I don't have any specific recommendations since I haven't seen any of these monitors myself. |

But for the last 6 months, since Nivida removed Sterostopic 3d from the drivers. I can't seem to get this working on my Acer XF240H. Is there any way around this? I can't downgrade the drivers because some games like Red Dead Redemption only works with latest drivers etc. I really really miss the strobelight. Hope there is a way! I only get the display not compataible what ever I do. Edit: I downgraded to the latest nvidia driver that supported 3d vision and got it to work even with RDR. Thank anyways man! Quote:[2019-11-11 23:32:52.222] LOAD(AMD): LoadLibrary("atiadlxx.dll") = ERROR 126 It has worked perfectly before. It is a 3D Vision monitor. Upon further research, I've read that 3D on Acer monitors could only be unlocked trough the Nivida Panel. And that is the reason it doesn't work. |
