Your monitor doesn't support 1440x1080 @ 144 Hz. Enable GPU scaling in the Catalyst Control Center to make the video card handle the resolution instead.

It should, but make sure to follow the workaround for NVIDIA. You might need to use hdmi.dat instead of blank-extension.dat if you want it to be treated as HDMI instead of DVI, but it should work either way with the patch. The pixel clock needs to stay under 300 MHz.

Some monitor/GPU combinations can bypass the 165 MHz HDMI limit without patching the driver by enabling the extension block and importing one of these files:
hdmi.dat (HDMI support only)
how can i do this? wheare i need import this file?

I need help because I can not put up a resolution 1920X1080P. I have a Philips monitor 242G5 144Hz LCD with a videocard R9290. I tried putting 2222X1440P and the error message appears on the screen for me to put the resolution to 60Hz 1920X1080P.

What should I do to run a resolution that is above 1920X1080P?

Your monitor is 1920x1080. CRU is not meant for downsampling. For higher resolutions to work, your monitor has to support them.

I've started to use CRU. Excellent utility! One problem I've is that when specifying a 23.976 refresh rate the "modeline text" is rounded up to 24. So there is no way to put 23.976 and 24. May I suggest that 23.976 is rounded to 23? That way I would be able to select 23 or 24

I don't have control over that. The driver adds 23.976 Hz as 24 Hz. You can try 48 Hz for the other one.

Hello, I bought Benq GW2760 yesterday and tried to overclock it to 72Hz through Nvidia drivers and through CRU. Tried automatic, standard, reduced, but it won't work on 72Hz properly. I get a small amount of pixel-size artifacts. Best I could get was 70Hz on automatic. I applied your Nvidia driver tweak prior to overclocking. Do you have any custom timings I could try to get to the 72Hz?

I am using the following settings.
1920 x 1080 @ 72 hz (178.20 Mhz).

Include extension block is enabled by default

I have a samsung s27D390 and an AMD 7970.

This is working fine whitout frame skipping or artifacts.

However although the pixel clock is higher than 165hz I did not patch the pixel clock or imported a file.

Am I bypassing the 165hz clock or is my 178 Mhz scaled down to 165 Mhz and is it better to patch?
