RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I've got an Acer XR34 and want to set a 2560x1440p resolution.
Currently it goes from 3440x1440 then 1080p, there's no middle ground. Anyone managed this with CRU? I can set it up fine and it works on the desktop but whenever a game selects it my monitor says "out of range". I can still use TeamViewer tho and coming out of the game using that and back in again seems to fix it, but i can't figure out the issue. To get the 1440p res I copy the 3440x1440p settings and just edit the active pixels. Could be that? |

When you go into the monitors info when it's on the desktop it does say 2560x1440 and "normal" so freesync is off at that point. I'm guessing loading the game activates freesync and that's causing the issue. I do wonder why coming out of the game and back in fixes it tho. Maybe freesync switches off? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
A bit of a dumb question maybe, but by default, my monitor's native resolution is listed both in the "Detailed resolutions" as well as the "Standard resolutions" lists:
http://i.imgur.com/rqxTANh.png That's what the monitor's EDID looks like by default. Since the guide on the first post mentions that the native res should not be listed in the "Standard resolutions" list, is it better to delete it from there? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello. I have a problem with using CRU to overclock my monitor. I managed to overclock my 60Hz monitor to 87Hz, using Nvidia Control Panel, and then copied all settings in CRU (to have an ability to turn DSR on).
Everything works fine in windows and most games, but some games (for example: "Unreal Tournament" (Pre-Alpha or new one), "XII" and DOSBox), when run in full screen, ruin 87Hz timing settings (i think). Game works fine, but when i turn it off or alt-tab from it video card switches to 87Hz mode, but this time there is artifacts on screen (same if i set 87Hz and automatic timing). I tried to enable "Detailed resolutions" in main window and in "Extension block". Does anyone know what to do to fix this issue? P.S. Monitor plugged into HDMI and video card is GTX 1070. Also i have 2 monitors one hdmi and second ist VGA through adapters (video card-dvi to hdmi-hdmi to VGA-Monitor). |
