Heart RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
AWESOMENESS!!!Heart i brought a Acer P243W for roughly 100$ and the image where degradating over time (short ~ 10-15min) having flickers and parasite... i tinkered around with resolution and i found : Any resolution @60hz does it, while @59hz and 75hz doesnt but in profile only 1920x1200@60hz was avaiable, i did a bit of google search and ended here now at 1920x1200@75hz!Big Grin

funny fact when playing Tera, i get better fps on that monitor at 1200p 75hz than my other (Asus VS247CH) at 1080p 60hz (not due to Vsync) on the Asus i was getting 35-45fps on the Acer 55-68fps, i wonder what does that xD higher res but better fps ... weird

now i recall my Asus being a 5ms and the Acer a 2ms but i dont think it has something to do with...

(both are plugged on a Club3d HD6950 2gb Coolstream ed. with Asrock970 extrem3 PhenomII X6 12gig ram(yush ...i know i know) (catalyste 12.10 here)

considering donation but atm im a bit low on cash so i hope a thank you is enough for the moment... Wink

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Hi,

Sorry for my bad english, I'm french.

I just have an 7970L BE, I have 2 vx2268wm which have only 1 DVI-D dual link and 1 VGA. It can make 1680x1050 at 120Hz.

So for use my screen with 120Hz, I try your patcher.

If I make 100, 110 or 120Hz in my screen properties, black screen and back to 60Hz.

If I use 75Hz, it's ok for my first screen (with DVI-D on card).
On my second screen, can't overpass 60Hz. I try to use DVI-I on card or adapter Mini-Display to DVI-D, same result.

Can you help me ?

Thanks.

edit : I use last driver : 13.1

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
If you mean the MSI 7970 Lightning, that card doesn't have any dual-link DVI ports. Single-link DVI with the patch will only work if the monitor can handle higher pixel clocks over a single link, which isn't a normal setup. Otherwise, you need to use active DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapters, the ones with the USB plug for power. The simpler adapters are single-link DVI only.

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Okay, thanks for reply.

I returned card.

I think I buy one 7970 Vapor-x Ghz edition.
Any problem with this one ?

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
That card only has one dual-link DVI port. I don't know of any recent AMD cards with two dual-link DVI ports, so there's no way to run two of those monitors at 120 Hz without using an active adapter.

NVIDIA cards usually have two dual-link DVI ports, so a GTX 670 or 680 might be the better option.

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Ok, thanks.

I think I sell one (or two) screen because I'm playing only on one screen.
So, second must be normal in 60hz.

If I arrive to selling the two, I buy Asus VG248QE.

Do you know anyone who want my vx2268wm ? (I live in France...)
How many can I sell it ?

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Today i updated my catalyst control center and my drivers from 12.1 to 12.3 beta 5. I would like to play Crysis 3 and it is optimized with this beta version. I tried to install atikmdag-patcher + testmode + CRU Utility but they didn't work and the refresh rate stays at 60hz. Toasty do u have any solutions about this. Thanks.

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Make sure you choose the correct entry from the monitor drop-down list. Sometimes updating the driver will create a new entry, so you'd have to copy the settings over to the new entry.
