Failing to create driver links is not a patcher issue. Something is messing with the links that were created previously and replacing them with files, which the patcher will not remove. I don't know if it's some program doing this or some malware because I've never seen it happen myself. Show me a detailed screen shot of the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\atikmdag-patched folder. Then delete the folder and it should work.

I haven't heard of this issue. Are you using a custom BIOS? I can't help with issues caused by a custom BIOS.

yeah, but only the one that unlocks the otherwise locked potential of the card

everything else works normally..

I am adding up to 6 GPU's in a server and each time I added a new patched GPU some errors showed up in the Device Manager Display Adapters section for Radeon RX470's that I was using, even tough I had already previously run the patcher for the prior GPU. I would run the patcher again and reboot and all would be hunky-dory. I'm not sure why this was required but it seems like something may have been refreshed because it would allow me to install the patch again each time. I did one time get the message saying the patch was already installed so I do know that the program recognizes this condition but in the case of adding additional Radeon's and rebooting I had to re-patch and reboot and they were fine after that.
Windows automatically reinstalls the driver after adding a GPU even if it's the same driver, so you have to patch it again. It does this for everything, like when plugging a mouse into a different USB port.

Maybe a semi-stupid question, but is there any way to copy the patched driver(s) to wherever Windows uses for its repository so that new GPUs are already taken care of (and thus don't have Code 43 or other freakouts)?

I don't know how feasible this is, but it's something I've been curious about for some time.

RE: AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
Hi All,
First thanks for making a patch that enables the use of GPU BIOS modding on my RX 480 which yielded ~16% increase in MH/s performance for ETH mining.

Second... I've got some issues I'm hoping ToastyX and the other smart people here can help me with:

Using an MSI RX 480 on Win 10 x64 with gpu driver version 17.12.1, I used GPU-Z to backup my GPU BIOS. Then I used Polaris 1.6.5 to modify the memory timings. I flashed with AtiFlash 2.77, and rebooted.

Naturally, there was zero graphics output. I had to switch to integrated graphics, run the Pixel Clock Patcher, reboot, and I was back to being able to use my GPU. My MH/s went up, which was great, but some other weird things happened...

If my machine was idle enough to turn off the display, I would return to find all my windows were resized to the top left part of my screen in a 640x480 pixel area. If I opened "Display Settings," I would notice that there was now 2 monitors on my machine: the actual monitor (I only have one, and have always only had one), and a mysterious 640x480 monitor... Checking device manager revealed a "non-pnp monitor" but otherwise was inexplicable. If I "duplicated" the monitors, scaling would become problematic and I would have to boot, login, logout, and login again to get scaling back. (I use an ASUS 4k monitor) Also, text became inexplicably blurry...

I was frustrated enough with this and other issues that I had to roll back to the old GPU BIOS, uninstall AMD drivers via their cleanup tool, and install the latest drivers again. Text is clear, the 2nd mystery monitor is gone, and unfortunately my MH/s went back to the old way it used to be.

My guess is that the BIOS is just incompatible on a variety of fronts. Are there any other patches or methods of getting around these issues so that I can benefit from better timings, but also still live with my computer? Thanks!

(edit: I do NOT have secure boot enabled)
