RE: CRU 1.3 preview
The 1.3 preview works great and the 2 more extension blocks on ATI cards is really a good improvement.
I just have one problem. When CRU is active, if i open the crimson panel, it loops detecting the monitor every 2 seconds, no way to stop it. I have to kill the crimson process or close the session to return to normal. @ToastyX : We have already spoken about this problem before and you've already encountered it. Is there a registry key or something else to disable the monitor check when crimson panel is open (if i remember, there was such an option in the catalyst control panel) Thanks |

I've only seen it happen when trying to create custom resolutions using Radeon Additional Settings with a non-PnP monitor. |

YES it is working also in Full Screen Mode But for my CRT I Have to set Freesync in range: 60-120 Here you can see if it work Download the windmill Freesync Demo for Radeons: https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/...B5EDFFC66Y UPD. Also interesting is one new fact about Freesync Gaming: the tW is lower when FS is ON In FC4 i've got 235tW without it and when is ON it shows around 200tW ! This is German made Vivanco Active HDMI->VGA with 295 Pix.Clock http://www.vivanco.com/Homepage/Products...rettyPhoto I know this is strange, but FS really working You need FS GPU capable + LCD/LED/CRT monitor. FS comunicate with GPU to render more fluent FPS in Game. Simply put -> its better with FS ON than OFF And Bro, i don't have a must to force somebody else to bolieve what i've experience, but its working im sure of that. I think than everyone need to test this on his own and then elaborate. And Big THX for your work !! UPD. I made some Testing with Frame Times etc. programs used: FRAPS + of course The FLA Calculator ( http://www.gpureport.cz/Windows/FLAcalcu...lator.aspx ) Best experience when Gaming is when Freesync is ON and V-Sync OFF (Yes for all Games i've tested, FS have always better Frame Times and more Stable FPS overall) The Witcher III Ultra with Ubersampling On http://i65.tinypic.com/zl56bt.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/29fczuv.jpg Shadow Of Mordor Dx11 http://i68.tinypic.com/wi26pu.jpg Far Cry 4 DX11 http://i68.tinypic.com/lwnk7.jpg Heroes VII DX9 http://i63.tinypic.com/oh45e.jpg ME DX11.1 http://i67.tinypic.com/zulbnn.jpg From my observations i've noticed that Gameplays have More FPS and those FPS are very 'Stable'. Here is all i can do. If you need i can upload for you FRAPS Output Frame Times File. RE: CRU 1.3 preview (P2)
ToastyX I have been working on this since Onna/Loccothan mentioned it over at guru3d.
I have an R9 390 and R9 290. The monitor I am using for the testing is a LG 29UM58 Ultrawidescreen. Normally I run my monitor overclocked at 2560x1080 and 3440x1440 at 75hz with no issue. I can do get up to 77hz but have issues with chrome. Right now with this method I found out my blanking issue happens if I put the freesync range to 75hz, it works fine at 74hz. The low end I can set is 30hz So in short I can set a freesync range to of 30hz to 74hz without blanking. I am thinking the other timings settings might be the culprit to the blanking. Also it appears AMD as updated their list of freesync monitors with a number of them over HDMI only, including one named LG 29UM58A which does not exist as far as I can tell. It appears to have the same specs as mine. The AMD windmill test was not updated to use crossfire, however this freesync works with crossfire. Let me know what you need from me. As I told OnnA/Loco was I think that AMD has secretly added the driver side freesync over HDMI to the drivers in whole or part and that is why it enables, just my thoughts on this. And thanks for chiming in over at guru3d, I was getting ill with peoples disrepective manners especially towards OnnA. Yes he deserves the credit. I also started a thread over at overclock.net where people tend to really test things hard in hopes. http://www.overclock.net/t/1612992/enabl...-more-work I can do some videos /screen captures tomorrow if you want just tell me what and will see what I can do. One last thing this also works on the driver 16.10.1 that was just released today. |

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure if the timing parameters matter. Maybe try setting the vertical total to 1100 to keep the pixel clock under 225 MHz, or try increasing it and see if that changes anything. Have you tried the G-SYNC Pendulum Demo? Supposedly it works with FreeSync with VSync off: http://www.nvidia.com/coolstuff/demos#!/g-sync |
