Converting DVI duallink to HDMI or Display port possible? (@2560x 1440 pixels)
I want to upgrade my monitor form 24" to 27". Therefore, my resolution will change form 1920 x 1080 to 2560x 1440 pixels. Newer monitors do not have DVI plugs anymore.
I am using a KVM setup that I woudl like to keep if at all possible. My KVM and cables are capable 2560 × 1600 (all dual link). There are adapter DVI to HDMI or display port. But will it work? Wouldn't the the two DVI streams need to be combined? Or can I force 2560x 1440 through DVI to HDMI using a standard adopter cable? DVI to HDMI cable? |

If you can get a monitor that supports 2560x1440 with HDMI, you should be able to use a simple DVI-HDMI cable if the KVM just passes the signal through.
