RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I thought the point of the CUR was to overcome these software limitations.
But what is it, I can test to figure out where the problem lies? Is there a way to find out if the laptop really got HDMI 2.0b and not just HDMI 1.4? Because it just behaves like my oler Xiaomi Mi Air 13, which only got HDMI 1.4. The resolution of 3440x1440 wasn't the problem, displaying this reasolution at 60Hz was. Unfortunately I don't own an UHD TV or anything with a higher resolution, so I can't test if 3860x2160@60Hz works. Maybe just 3440x1440@60Hz ist the problem. |

Similarly, what happens if you set a lower resolution, like 1920x1080 - are you then able to set it to 60Hz? If you're able to successfully do that, then if worst comes to worst, you could always try setting the "pixel format" in your Radeon control panel to something like 4:2:2 or 4:2:0, in which case 60Hz may work...though your color resolution will be reduced (whether this is noticeable to you or not depends on various factors). |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello,
I recently purchased an ultrawide monitor (HP e344c) that has an optimal resolution of 3440 x 1440 @ 60 Hz. I hooked it up to my Windows 10 computer and saw that the maximum refresh rate I was able to obtain was only 30 Hz. After doing some research, it appears that I am limited to this refresh rate due to my choice of input - I'm using HDMI 1.4 on integrated graphics, and do not have a DisplayPort available. I then discovered CRU and went through the steps to create a custom resolution of 3440 x 1440 @ 50 Hz, which I've read HDMI 1.4 should support. It does seem to work for a little while but, invariably, the refresh rate always seems to reset back to 29-30 Hz. If I go back to my advanced display adapter properties and check the monitor tab, I do still see the 50 Hz option there, but clicking it doesn't seem to have any effect. Manually running restart64.exe does seem to fix the issue, but I'm wondering what is causing the refresh rate to revert in the first place and whether this problem can be corrected. Thanks in advance for your assistance. |

There's no reason for that to happen. |

I am not able to set subsampling to something different than 4:4:4 via the amd software. Even if I am setting 8bit colour instead of 10bit, there is still only 4:4:4 to set. If I try to set all the timing options to the same values, that work for my 980ti on my desktop pc, I still get the same error message. Trying to change something via CRU, for now I just managed to delete 3440x1440@30Hz. Was able to select it again via windows settings after executing "reset-all" but wasn't able to add it manually. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Panel resolution vs edid?
How can you accurately pixel count a monitor? My UE590 accepts 5120 × 2880, I assume the internal scaler is just down scaling it to 4k? Does anyone know a better freesync range? Does freesync work at non native resolutions? Cvt reduced blank in nvcp can only get to 80hz 3200x1800 aside from cvtrb is there anything better I can do? Manually setting too low makes my mouse cursor disapear across all displays. I have an old asus vg278he monitor 144hz with hdmi 1.4 and dual link dvid the hdmi 1.4 shows anything over 90hz as out of range. Apparently hdmi to dvi cables are not dual link...my rtx2080 doesn't have dvi... the dvi from the intel igpu doesnt support higher resolutions... its a dual link dvi port but its just a dumby single? |

The ASUS monitor won't do 144 Hz with HDMI. |
