That's 100% an NVIDIA driver bug and needs to be reported to them. I'm not sure what triggers the bug because it's not anything that CRU is doing wrong. It triggers when any EDID override is present but doesn't always happen. In your case it didn't happen and then it did. Someone clued me in that it might be related to what resolution was last set in Windows or the NVIDIA control panel before restarting. In his case, he was trying to delete 4096x2160 and had to set the resolution to 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz before restarting to avoid the problem, but you're doing the opposite and trying to keep the higher resolution. If you just fresh installed a driver after DDU or ran reset-all.exe, then Windows has no record of a last set resolution for the monitor, so try changing the resolution to let Windows save something before restarting.

Hey, my asus xg258q monitor used to have 3 extension blocks but ever since i powered off my pc i cannot find those 3 extension blocks on cru. I need to copy one of the settings. Ive tried resetting, retarting through program and through pc and also tried re installing cru. What can i do?

Run reset-all.exe and reboot. Then run this and post the test.txt file here: https://www.monitortests.com/EDID-test.zip

Hey guys, looking for some help.. I want to add a custom resolution in a certain way but kind of stumped and can't get it to work quite how I want. So I'd like to add a resolution through the detailed resolution in extension block I want to be 1920x1080 @ 75Hz and I want it to default to YcCbCr422 Color format on apply and properly support HDR. So then when I want to play games at 1080/120 with HDR working correctly then I don't have to play with the color format everytime I change resolutions to make it work and painlessly switch back to RGB 4K60. So just wondering how I would do this and what settings to use in CRU?

Color formats are not per-resolution. The setting is up to the graphics driver.

Hello ToastyX,

First of all, a Huge thank you for creating CRU. I have read this forum a-lot, and was able to create a custom resolution for my 4K TV with lower resolution height (ultra wide) that in itself greatly improved gaming FPS and immersion.

But now for the past two weeks, I have been trying everything I can think of to allow multi channel audio from PC (currently only stereo is available). My setup is as follows:
Windows 11 PC with Asus Tuf Gaming RTX 3070 TI video card
TV Samsung Q95T, one connect box
AVR Yamaha RX-A830

Connection is:
RTX3070ti -> HDMI to TV HDMI slot 4 (gaming input)
TV HDMI 3 (ARC) to AVR

Limitations:
I know that the TV can support most audio codecs, but not the old DTS formats
I know that the HDMI connections in Yamaha are the older v1.4 so they only support ARC (and not eARC) -> limiting the lossless channels to 2, but dolby digital 5.1 should work

Successfull tests:
From any other source than PC, the 5.1 audio is transmitted to AVR (via this same ARC HDMI connection)
From PC, when selecting Dolby "Atmos for home theater" spatial audio, 5.1 audio is transmitted to AVR, but there is too big lag in this setting to be useful in gaming

Problem is, that I have been able to set Windows to "see" my Samsung TV as capable of receiving multi-channel audio, and it seems to try to send it, but AVR receives only 2.0 audio.

I have tried different settings on the tv, and on the extension blocks. What I currently have and what gets me "closest" to the end is attached as the CRU settings, and the windows settings. This leads Windows seeing the channels, and trying to output sound (animation is there), but AVR only receives 2.0 audio.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but for sure, I am getting desperate on how this does not work, since it does for other sources, and it does for this workaround with spatial Atmos. If you can, please help me, I will run any additional tests needed.

I've been reading in these forums and reddit about solving screen brightness flickering because of VRR, so all i want to do is to change the Variable Refresh Rate range but i can't figure out how to do it.

I have an Odyssey G9 OLED that i'm always using at 5120x1440 at 240hz.

I thought all i had to do is press the "edit" button and change the V value but the values are empty, or they have lower hertz values than my current refresh rate in use, and my monitor is also displayed many times in the dropdown menu.

So basically, if i press Edit on my active monitor i don't know what to write down in the V-rate, H-rate and Max pixel clock values because they're empty and i don't know how to know the proper values for those. I wanted to try something like 120-240hz as my VRR range.

I attached pictures of the "6 odyssey monitors" that i have there and their properties.

I have a g9 too and what fixed the flicker for me was replacing the DP cable. I came to the conclusion that the provided DP cable from Samsung was faulty after watching a LTT video where they hooked various cables to a test to verify performance and the only cable to fail were Samsung oem cables. So I took a bet and got a Monoprice 8k DP 2.0 cable and my flicker issues went away. Another thing to mention, if you're getting black screen flashes in game (especially valve's source engine games) its because for some reason the frame rate is dropping to low for the VRR to function properly. in those games I just set the "Monitor Technology" setting to fixed refresh in nvidia 3d setting for that application and problem solved.

My monitor is a black screen even after i used my muscle memory to turn it on type in reset-all.exe and hit confirm so it resets everything

You should run reset-all.exe in safe mode just to be sure.
