Generally you shouldn't need to change the features because if the display supported them, they would already be available, and I don't think those features are supported with PC drivers anyway.

Thank you for the above feedback. I can't be certain if the dummy plug is actually DisplayPort or as you said possibly just single-link DVI dummy plugs with a different connector.

I'm just looking to putback the 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz, that's all. I only use 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 both @ 60Hz. These dummy plugs allow me to connect to PC1 and PC2 using the VNC from my other PC with physical monitors that are mix of 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 @ 60Hz.


So, "if" Intel behaving "oddly" for "some reason", then how does your suggestion of deleting all the resolutions and extension blocks and just create the resolutions i want from CRU will (hopefully) solve my mystery? Maybe just a quick explanation on how this can work under the hood?


And as for the steps, do i perform following steps in this order?

a) Delete All the Extension blocks?
b) Delete All the Standard resolutions
c) Delete All the Detailed resolutions
d) Add to Standard resolutions (only add to here ???) the two resolutions @ 60 Hz? Or (also ???) add to the Detailed resolution using Automatic PC Timing?
e) Reboot (or restart64.exe ???)

I do see the 1920x1200 listed in the Standard resolutions so not sure how Intel is getting confused, somehow.

I explained that already. Normally standard resolutions are not reduced blanking, so 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz would exceed 165 MHz pixel clock. 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz with "Automatic PC" timing should work in all cases since that does not exceed 165 MHz pixel clock.

Don't think so hard. Just delete everything and add 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz as detailed resolutions with "Automatic PC" timing. That's it.

I just suspect a raw fw, this is an OLED monitor on an LG Oled Gen 3 display. I think it should support this.

Hello toasty i need help, i built a new computer and i cant get my crt to display a picture with the generic HDMI to VGA adapter i was previously using.

old pc: Gigabyte Z390UD , i3 9100 , 2x8GB ram 3000mhz , igpu.

Current build: Asus Maximus Rog XII Hero wifi, i9 10900K , same ram, iGPU.

the generic hdmi to vga adapter was able to comfortably render 1920x1200i 144hz , 1920x1440i 120hz , my new motherboard only has an HDMI output, what am i doing wrong? or maybe i cant use the generic adapter to use my samsung 997MB at all on this motherboard??? i have tried deleting everything on CRT to make sure that only 1920x1080p 60hz cvt standard resolution is left for the 997MB , but it wont show a pic at all, it just blackscreens.

Hello toasty and to all others here, I'm back here again, after some years
I have a technical problem and maybe there are some hints to the given problem:

For many years I have used a DLP projector via HDMI 1.3 connection on an AMD GPU. The connection was recognized normally, I had the default resolutions and I could add custom resolutions.
Now I have a new computer setup from scratch with a Ryzen 8600G, using the HDMI 2.0 connector from the mainboard.
The second connector of the mainboard, a DP over USB-C is connected to my monitor, working normally.

I set up my new computer and connected for the first time my projector. Immediately the connection was titled as generic non-pnp in Windows 10 and the only resolution available was 640x480.
I reinstalled the driver, reset everything, but it stayed like that. In AMD Radeon settings the normal naming 'HDMI' changed to 'DDC Display - DVI-D'.

I reattached the projector to my old PC - now guess what happened: The same thing! Generic non-pnp display and DDC Display - DVI-D.
The projector doesn't give a picture during boot, so no BIOS screen possible.
My new PC shows a red LED on the mainboard named GPU during boot when my projector is connected.
Changed the cable, same thing.
Connected my monitor with HDMI to the PC - everything normal.

So it seems like there isn't a software problem, it's a hardware problem. Not the cable and not the GPU output. It seems to be the HDMI connector of the projector.
So there is a problem with DDC and the EDID is not transported or faulty.

So what a coincidence: You can assume that probably not a pin of the HDMI input of the projector gave up the same time I firstly connected my new PC.
I can only assume that there was a kind of hardware conflict / bad implementation of the EDID transport.

It seems like the HDMI output of my new PC 'destroyed' / damaged the chip dealing with EDID in my projector - or do you have a better theory?

I'm now using a custom resolution which works.

I am not 100% sure if the picture is the same like before.

How is the situation handled now? Is this connection now treated as DVI like the naming in Radeon settings (kind of fallback?)
The settings for pixel format disappeared, so what 'pixel format' is used with DVI, is it RGB Full (the one I want)? Is there anything in CRU where I can make a setting regarding that?

The HDMI output shouldn't be able to corrupt the EDID. Did you unplug the projector's power or move it at any point? Maybe it was already corrupted for a while and cached in the projector's memory.

Are you able to read the EDID with EDWriter? If it's corrupted, it will offer to fix the data. Then you can try writing the EDID and hope it's not write protected:

DVI is always full range RGB. To get an HDMI signal, add a CTA-861 extension block and an HDMI data block.
