Boot into safe mode and run reset-all.exe.

Can you describe what happened? Did the display work after running restart.exe or did it stay black? If it worked, then it should have worked after restarting Windows. If it stayed black, then pressing F8 should have reset everything temporarily and restored the display. If it just rebooted, then the driver crashed for some reason.

The Acer XB270HU is a 2560x1440 monitor. It doesn't support 3840x2160. You need to use DSR if you want 3840x2160, not custom resolutions.

man i know that , it used to work so nicely on windows 8.1

i mean i could've enabled 7000x3000 if want to back then

The Acer XB270HU is a 2560x1440 monitor. It doesn't support 3840x2160. You need to use DSR if you want 3840x2160, not custom resolutions.

You can technically use higher resolutions than the monitor supports but there are some limits and the refresh rate may be limited. I actually got a 1920x1080 screen to display 1920x1440@120hz (!) without going out of range, but this was tricky...The default vertical total didn't work. it would show a display but would show "Out of range!" on the OSD. Then it would make me select a new input. Re-selecting displayport (or DVI) would close the out of range error afterwards but I could not do anything in the OSD.

I got it working without an out of range error by increasing the VT to 1500. The OSD actually reported the resolution correctly as 1920x1440, so this was not a fluke.

Masterotaku got 2560x1440@60hz working on his XL2411z, but he said this was GPU scaled (no idea if you can gpu scale UPWARDS). not DSR btw.

Wanted to share that with CRU I was able to set the pixel clock to more than 400 Mhz on a CRT monitor.
A functional resolution was 2560*1536@72 (through the VGA port), though the vertical number could be set still higher.

I also use MonInfo to create the .INF files (from the CRU saves), which can be used as a monitor driver, in which all non standard resolutions and refresh rates are already described.

CRU doesn't deal with scaled resolutions. Scaled resolutions are virtual resolutions. If you can't create a scaled resolution using the NVIDIA control panel with Windows 10, then that's a driver-specific limitation that you would have to bug NVIDIA about.

Some monitors can scale down higher resolutions, but not the Acer XB270HU.

Scaled resolutions are different. CRU doesn't deal with that.

What video card? Are you using the pixel clock patcher? Both AMD and NVIDIA have 400 MHz pixel clock limits for VGA in their drivers, but the AMD pixel clock patch can get around that. I don't have a solution for NVIDIA.

What about the INF files that CRU creates? That should have been fixed in 1.0.1 based on your feedback.

I have one issue... my main monitor will not work with Nvidia Surround, though the left and right secondary screens work perfectly. Here's the details:

I have an Acer XB270HU 27" G-Sync display and tring to get tri-monitor Nvidia surround working with an Asus VW266H and a VK266H. Seeing as the 2x Asus monitors are 1920x1200@60hz, I have set the XB270HU to those dimensions and refresh rate. I have set all the monitors to the exact same settings in CRU. Each and every time I click 'Enable Surround', the screens flicker for a few seconds and the 2x Asus start working in Surround, but the center XB270HU just goes black with no response. I have also tried dropping the refresh rate to 59.950 across all 3 in an attempt to get it working without success.

It would seem that without setting everything correctly you would not even get the option to click "Enable Surround", I just have no idea how I could get to this stage and have the Acer shut down. FYI it is a 27" G-Sync monitor 144hz 2560x1440 native res display. The other 2 screens are older models.

Here are snapshots of the CRU settings for all 3 monitors:

   
   
   

(I was messing with the Sync polarity [+] and [-] while testing so that's why the Acer snapshot is different in these pics. It still doesn't work no matter what I set).

Any clues you can think of?

The Acer XB270HU doesn't support non-native resolutions. This setup is not possible unless the ASUS monitors can scale down 2560x1440, which isn't likely.
