RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Is there some sort of EDID inf file import or registry hack I can do to have the 1920 x 2400 at 25hz as the only resolution or as the "default" one?
After rebooting it seems like it keeps wanting to go back to the original recommended resolution of 3840 x 2400 at 13hz. I have to use the latest driver as my computer also run a gtx 960 along with the nvs 510. Thanks. |

Apparently the Quadro driver has a way to override the EDID on a per-port basis: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3301 I don't know if it will accept .bin files. If not, you can export a .dat file and edit it with Notepad. Just remove all the headings and put all the data on one line. |

That is it!! thanks for the tip. didn't know how I missed that.. It's like the solution has been staring at me the whole time. On the topology page there is the field "EDID source". It was set to "monitor" all these times so every time you reboot it just loads again from the monitor and break the connection in mosaic. but now I have it changed to "file" and it keeps the customized EDID after reboot with my mosaic set up intact So I actually didn't quite have to run CRU the whole time, I just need the customized file Btw quadro does not take anything except for a plain txt file containing something like this 00 ff ff ff ff ff 00 24, etc how would I create one of those? Btw, surround and mosaic are very similar to each other. Except that mosaic seems more flexible. system topology panel to enable EDID from file will only show up if you have a quadro card installed. So without a quadro card, you don't have that panel to load a customized EDID. The GeForce driver for gtx 960 actually will support also a few of the more recent quadros and nvs. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
*** EDIT: FIXED - Seems that it was an NVIDIA Driver issue. Updating to latest resolved all problems ***
Hi. I wonder if anyone can help a poor n00b with this. I have a 3x monitor setup. 2x DELL FP1907 5:4 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 1280x1024 and a Samsung 16:10 aspect ratio running at 1920x1200 (DELL-Samsung-DELL) Now, when I was running Win8.1, I could use the NVIDIA CP to custom resolution the 2x DELLs to 1500x1200 (giving a total screen resolution of 4920x1200 when playing games). When I upgraded to Win10, this option was no longer available. I receive a message from the NVIDIA CP saying that the custom res (1500x1200) is not supported with the DELL’s, So I downloaded CRU When I use CRU to ‘change’ the DELL’s to 1500x1200, and then go to Windows display properties, I can see the option to change to 1500x1200, but when I choose this resolution, the DELL monitor(s) themselves report that this resolution is not available. Which is frustrating because I know that they can display this from before. Now, I will admit, I don’t know nothing about changing porches, sync widths, blanking’s or frequencies. I just left them on ‘default’, and I’m guessing for this to work, I need to manually edit these. Can anyone help me with this? I can provide further information if required. |

CRU only deals with monitor resolutions. 1280x1024 monitors usually don't accept higher resolutions. |

Sorry I missed that part about the dat file. just went back and saw what you mean. Thnx dude !. What I meant about changing the EDID source to file means that you tell the NVidia driver to load up a customized EDID from a txt file which the driver itself would then keep the customized EDID from that file even after restart. Otherwise the default EDID source is "monitor" which would download the EDID from monitor at every restart of the computer. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Have a problem with last NVIDIA drivers.
If i use CRU with hdmi-audio.dat, after restart i get higher contrast on my screen. If i use CRU without hdmi-audio.dat everything is fine, but my monitor speakers disabled, but i need them. This problem comes with last NVIDIA drivers 361.91. Evetything was ok on older drivers. |
