RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Can a monitor/projector reach 120 Hz without problems and at the same time being unable to do lower refresh rates? 24 Hz, 48 Hz, 60 Hz, 72 Hz, 120 Hz all work well, but I'm getting no signal when trying 96 Hz, which I'd love to experiment with.

basically.. i want to change my native resolution, from 1920x1080
to 1600x900
The first detailed resolution is the native resolution. Just edit the first detailed resolution or add a new one and use the arrow buttons to move it to the top. Use the "LCD standard" timing option to fill in the values.

hello there xD
It din't work..

maybe i did something wrong ?
here.. the native resolution is still 1920x1080
i use a tv, it's not a monitor.. idk but, maybe that make's a diference ?
Samsung 39ยบ LED
Model Number: UN39FH5205GXZD
i use HDMI.. ^^
The reset-all.exe
it will just revert any change i made in the CRU, right ? ^^

What's the framerate of the videos you're trying? you shouldn't have judder if the FPS are multiple of the refresh rate you're using. 24, 30 and 60 FPS shouldn't give you any judder at 120 Hz, the same for 24 and 48 FPS videos at 144 Hz. In case you're watching videos with a different framerate, like 25 FPS at 144 Hz, try using Reclock or Videoclock, or in the last case (not the best option but works anyway) try madvr's smooth motion.

Also be aware that you can be confusing monitor judder (FPS not matching refresh rate) with inter-frame judder (not enough frames to show a smooth camera movement, like in a panning scene). The second one is normal in cinema due to low framerate and there's not much you can do about it, unless you try something like SVP, which tries to solve the issue but adding other artifacts. Nice for cartoons and animation movies, not my cup of tea for cinema in general.

If I were you I'd mess around with a media player with madvr support, I think the problem is there. I have the same monitor and everything runs smoothly.

thx very much for the reply dude . the judder i have with all movies they run at 24fps i have old monitor with native 1080 60hz and have no problems with it all run well .this judder happen just with movies even movies at youtube but not in games
i still searching for a solution .the judder happen to me mmmm i dunno how to describe it but it happens in the moving background of the movie i mean maybe the character dont jugger but if something moved behind him it judder and give me headache i tried svp but didnt like the way it shows movie i got used to cinematic move Big Grin
my judder like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ht8EIAOrj8
the problem i think is the hz cuz if i set screen at any hertez rather than 100/120/144 it judder even at desktop

That's strange. Edit the extension block and if there's a TV resolutions data block, edit it. If any resolution is listed in bold, edit it and uncheck the "Native format" option.

Yes, there can be holes in the range.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi, I'm having problems with CRU and GTA V. I set up a new resolution (the one I had was 60Hz already), clicked on "restart.exe" and the game still shows 50 and 59Hz as the maximum refresh rate.

These are my CRU settings
[Removed]

These are my NVIDIA control panel settings
[Removed]

I honestly don't know what else to do - the game won't recognise my monitor as being 60Hz; nothing else seems to be working. Some help would be appreciated, thank you Smile

Edit:
I finally managed to fix it. Had to delete ALL the resolutions under "standard resolutions" and "extension blocks".

These are my 100% fully working settings now. If you were having the same problem I was having, your interface should look like this:

If it still doesn't work for you under these settings, try running both restart.exe and restart64.exe as administrator, unplugging your HDMI, and replugging it.
Word of advice: If you still get microstutter at 60FPS, lower or disable your MSAA settings.

You can delete the TV resolutions data block if you don't need any of the resolutions.

Keep in mind this solution is NVIDIA-specific, and deleting the extension block removes HDMI support, which normally isn't a problem unless you need audio. AMD doesn't have a way to remove 1920x1080 @ 59 Hz without changing the native resolution.
