4Kx2K output does not mean HDMI 2.0. It means it can output 3840x2160, which you are getting at 30 Hz with HDMI 1.4. 60 Hz with YCbCr/RGB 4:4:4 requires HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2. You might be able to get 60 Hz with YCbCr 4:2:0 subsampling by adding it in the extension block as a TV resolution with the "4:2:0 resolutions" checkbox, but the driver might ignore that. Since CRU can't read extension blocks with Intel GPUs, you'll also need to manually add an HDMI support data block.

Yes, I have enabled YCbCr too. and i still dont get an option to choose my Res/Hz.. when I try to add a standard resolution, it doesn't allow me to enter it there either.
I even followed the guide i mentioned before and that didnt help me. so im stuck, just like my monitor lol

I'm not using HDMI 1.4 like you think i am, my 4K monitor is not set to that. its set to HDMI 2.0 and I'm using my HDMI 2.0 port. I dont have a 1.4 port. And I can clearly see my 4K external Monitor is pushing out 66Hz, and is capable of 80hz (which was confirmed by AOC U2879VF manufactures today when I called them)

Thanks...? I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me here. I'm aware Freesync is potentially supported over HDMI 1.4a which is supported both by my monitor and my Vega 56 card. The problem is that this monitor firmware doesn't officially support freesync, though older versions of the same monitor did unofficially via displayport and possibly HDMI. I was hoping to restore this functionality via CRU, but it doesn't appear to work unfortunately.

you just said unofficially, its been official for years, sorry for helping Sad I only posted it as mine is an AMD FreeSync too. But its not needed unless ur using a D.P

You're misunderstanding what I'm talking about. I'm referring to a specific monitor that never officially supported freesync. You posted a general news brief from 3 years ago that mentions freesync *may* now be enabled via the newest version of HDMI at the time (1.4a), not just displayport. It has nothing to do with my specific monitor. Not all monitors support freesync, regardless of their output. It has to be enabled in the firmware. As far as I can tell from my own experience and the experience of some others posting online, Acer chose to remove support for freesync from this model in the most recent production run (September 2018).

The monitor and cable are not the problem. The problem is either your laptop doesn't support HDMI 2.0, or the graphics driver doesn't think your laptop supports HDMI 2.0. CRU can't force the driver to support HDMI 2.0. If your laptop actually supports HDMI 2.0, then you need to find the correct driver for your laptop. Have you tried the latest Intel and NVIDIA drivers?

You didn't list what Intel CPU you have, but I think this is the correct driver:

You should also install the latest NVIDIA driver:

260 MHz is an odd limit. I'm not aware of a 260 MHz limit with HDMI, so it's probably a monitor limitation.

Hi been using your program for stretched resolutions. I have a really old monitor, but it seems to be working most of the time. However, sometimes it ends only covering half of the screen, I have full panel checked in my GPU settings also. HDMI scaling fixes the issue, but cause lag. Don't understand why half the time it works and half the time it does not. Thanks.

MY LAPTOP DOES SUPPORT HDMI 2.0...

i did say what my graphics card is, intel HD graphics 4600, and its using the latest driver.

My computer is up to date, im not like the other 99% of PC users out there who dont know what their computer does, or alike...

Im a Microsoft Certified Engineer, who passed his A+ Cert 2 decades ago.. so compared to the users here, im a power use of a PC.

even MSI has confirmed.

The only thing I can put it down to is your software doesnt work on my computer. as it will not add any more resolutions to the drop down and i asked for help on how to do it correctly since there isnt any set of instructions to follow

Hi

I found this utility from google and am sure this will solve my problem. I have following hardware.

Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop
Dell 2007FP LCD Monitor
Intel® Q35 Express Chipset Graphic Driver

I want 1980x1020 resolution for some work. I added this resolution on Detailed Resolutions + Standard Resolutions box and then run Restart64.

After this I tried to find this resolution in Windows screen resolution change area but this new resolution is not there.

How this new resolution will appear with other resolutions available to select?

I have a strange problem that I think your tool will resolve, just not sure which tool to use. I run Windows 10, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. I'm doing duel monitors one at resolution 3840x2160 and the other at 1920x1080. Those 2 are set correctly, yet the problem is for some reason Windows is reading my soundbar as a display. Display #1 is my soundbar, #2 is my 3840 and #3 is my 1920. I need somehow to get rid of the 3rd display #1 that is actually my soundbar. The soundbar works through Bluetooth, but not through HDMI because it's reading incorrectly. Also on this bogus display #1, the Active Signal Resolution is reading 4096x2160, yet the Desktop Resolution is reading 1920x1080, so it's causing not just a problem with the soundbar, but a problem with the second display #3. I'd disconnected #1, but what I really need is a way to delete this display setup altogether. That way I can get my soundbar to work with HDMI and would solve the resolution problem on my second display #3. Also, deleting this display would solve my problem with my Intel Optane Memory, which is caused by this soundbar display. You can see from my screenshot, this bogus display is connected to Intel UHD Graphics 360. Can you software do this? If so, which one should I use? I've added a screen shot of my display setup. I appreciate any and all advise you can give. Thanks for what you do.

i did say what my graphics card is, intel HD graphics 4600, and its using the latest driver.

My computer is up to date, im not like the other 99% of PC users out there who dont know what their computer does, or alike...

Im a Microsoft Certified Engineer, who passed his A+ Cert 2 decades ago.. so compared to the users here, im a power use of a PC.

The only thing I can put it down to is your software doesnt work on my computer. as it will not add any more resolutions to the drop down and i asked for help on how to do it correctly since there isnt any set of instructions to follow
You're not listening. It's possible CRU won't work with your GPU, but the underlying problem has nothing to do with CRU. This is a driver issue. You don't understand pixel clock limitations. The driver thinks your laptop doesn't support HDMI 2.0 and is not allowing higher pixel clocks. If it did, you'd be getting 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz automatically without doing anything. You shouldn't have to add resolutions that the monitor already defines. That indicates a problem. CRU can't force resolutions to work. It only tells the driver what resolutions the monitor supports using EDID overrides. If the driver doesn't support EDID overrides for your GPU, then CRU will have no effect. You can check by adding a lower resolution or refresh rate. If the driver supports EDID overrides but won't allow a higher resolution or refresh rate, then the problem is either the hardware doesn't support it, OR the driver wrongly thinks the hardware can't support it.

CRU does not deal with scaling. It's up to the monitor to scale the resolutions unless you use GPU scaling. Sometimes using different timing parameters can affect the way the monitor scales. What resolution are you trying to scale? What is the native resolution of the monitor?
