Flashing other monitors/tv EDID (without bricking?)
Hello i'm wondering if it's possible to flash an EDID from another monitor or tv on my asus vx248 without bricking it ?
What can happen in this kind of situation ? Thanks |

It should work if they support the same resolutions and interface (such as HDMI). There's no real risk because you can always flash the original EDID back.

RE: Flashing other monitors/tv EDID (without bricking?)
@ToastyX i having a trouble that i can't understand if theres a way to or not.
So in my monitor Menu that i use to play on PS4 1920x1080 when i try to change the aspect ratio on my monitors menu i only have "Full" and "Overscan" and before this monitor i had a Samsung Tv and i used to play on 16:9 ratio but in my monitor i can only switch to 16:9 when i force the PS4 to output 480p. Is there anyway to make the 16:9 available when im playing on 1920x1080 ? Like editing a specific parameter on EDID ? Thanks |

Have you looked at this way of overriding monior edid? https://blog.danman.eu/emulating-hdmi-connection/ https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003620068474.html connecting the monitor trough the dongle and editing the dongle edid. https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproj...ongle.html |

I've managed to find a way that works but it's not exactly what i said.
In my screen menu its always set to full but i deleted all resolutions of the EDID and i added a DisplayID 1.3 Block and i added a custom resolution on it and i added a Tile option to block the screen to that resolution and not rescale and it works fine ! |

Yes it works because the ps4 sends the signal thinking my tv is another resolution. Btw is there anyway to know what colometry is your screen using? Because im pretty sure my screen is outputing sRGB but i prefer adobe RGB is there anyway to change this? Thanks |
