Freesync hack (hacksync?) results for Asus PB278Q

Hi,
sharing my attempt to Freesync hack with the CRU software on an ASUS PB278Q 28" 1440 IPS monitor.

TLRD: Freesync didn't work. Overclocking to 80hz over HDMI has been no problem.

Stock Hz is 60. Editing the extension to add Freesync option no problem. Started with a Freesync range of 35-60hz. Upon reboot, AMD driver showed Freesync active. However, using the AMD Windmill Test showed no visual effect of turning Freesync on or off. Vsync, however, did reduce tearing. With Vsync on, turning Freesync on or off had no visual effect.

I tried several Max refresh rates and Fsync ranges. No effect.

I'm not experienced with OCing/hacking/etc. I'm just leaving a record of my attempt.

Thanks for the software and for getting my Hz up to 80! I'll go for higher when my DDVI cable gets here.

The PB278Q can only handle 60 Hz correctly. It skips frames at higher refresh rates. This should be obvious just by moving the mouse cursor.
