I want to do 8K on a 1080p monitor but get stuck on this point.
Any help ? thanks
This is for adding lower resolutions unless you're using AMD VSR, but you shouldn't need to add 8K if VSR supports it for your GPU.

Hey thanks for the reply, yes I have RX 5700xt and using VSR but the highest it can go is 4k.

There is a limited amount of bandwidth internally depending on the GPU. 8K might only be available at 60 Hz.

RE: Scaled Resolution Editor (SRE)
Hello There,

I'm new here and would like to say thank you for CRU! It was saved my projects at least hundred times! HeartHeartHeart

Now I just faced a new problem! I need to remove all resolutions except the recommended! I've removed everything with cru, set up a new 1.3 works flawlessly but there is a bunch of unwanted resolutions appeared, which is a problem because windows sometimes just start up in random res (crazy). Now i have removed everything with sre but still all are there. Any suggestion? its an rtx 4090

Thanks in advance!

What monitors are you using? What resolution did you keep in CRU? What are the unwanted resolutions that appeared?

The "monitor" is a slicer, a video wall processor. Its slice the input into 4 output. Itself its contains only 3840 x 2160 @ 60 and 4096 x 2160 @ 60. Anyway it works automatically, sliceing the input in the most logical way no matter what the input is. In the current scenario we sliceing 7680 x 1200 into 4x 1920 x 1200 landscape panorama. This resolution set up with cru (as usual) and works perfectly. The only problem is the following resolutions are showing up besides the 7680 x 1200 no matter what I do, even if the edid is empty in cru and everything deleted with sre. These resolutions 100% sure not in the device's edid. Device: bitvisus 104pro.

1920 x 1200
1920 x 1080
1920 x 720
1680 x 1050
1600 x 1200
1600 x 900
1440 x 900
1400 x 1050
1366 x 768
1280 x 1024
1280 x 800
1280 x 720
1152 x 864
1024 x 768
800 x 600

Does SRE show "(active)" next to the GPU name? In Device Manager, do you see any other "Display adapters" besides the RTX 4090? Do you have any other monitors connected besides the slicer?

Yes, active. No, there is no other displays adapters. Yes, I always have monitors (control). Furthermore Ive tried this on 4 systems without any success, 2080ti, 4070ti Sad The only system almost worked is with an old amd card, there were only one -if i remember right- 3200 x 1800 remained below my desired resolution.

NVIDIA's driver seems to be adding the lower resolutions of other monitors as scaled resolutions. You might have to delete the non-native resolutions on the other monitors as well. AMD's driver always adds 3200x1800 for some reason.

Well, thats almost solved everything. Now the only unwanted resolutions are the other monitors remained available resolutions. And this is it: the problem we faced is nvidia really adds (without any questions or with any options) the other monitors available resolutions to ALL OUTPUTS if the resolution is lower than the maximum available resolution. Thats pointless Big Grin

Thank you ToastyX, now its much better, however not the best. At least we dont have those which was sometimes selected automatically by windows at startup for some reason.

RE: Scaled Resolution Editor (SRE)
Hello, did I understand correctly that recovery is only possible after reinstalling the driver? I deleted the entire list and now the list of chats in Telegram does not load Sad I also deleted it in CRU, but there is a reset and it did not help.
