Unable to set refresh rate above 50Hz Xiaomi XMI3446 monitor
Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my post and also thanks for this amazing space where you share so much knowledge about displays.

I have a Xiaomi 34" ultrawide monitor, in CRU it appears as XMI3446, the SKU is BHR5132US, this is the product:
https://www.mi.com/uk/monitor34/

This is using Windows 10: I have connected it with an HDMI cable to a laptop (ASUS GL753VD-DS71) that has an Nvidia/Intel display adapter (GTX 1050 4GB and Intel HD graphics 630 - 7700HQ CPU).
A few weeks ago I was able to set the resolution to 3440x1440 and switch the refresh rate from 50 Hz to 100 Hz, then I got another laptop with Windows 11 and tried it with the monitor, unplugged the Asus laptop and worked with the new one for some days.
2 or 3 days ago I reconnected the Asus laptop to the monitor, and this time I can't switch the refresh rate to 100 Hz, the option disappeared and I can only select 49.998 Hz (not even 50, weird) as refresh rate.
I tried adding 100 Hz refresh rate to the 3440x1440 resolution with the latest version of CRU under "Detailed resolutions" (closed and ran the restart.exe file), but when I go to the "advanced display settings" section of windows 10, it doesn't show up, and it doesn't show up on the "list all modes" of the display adapter properties either.

Same thing happened with the other laptop, it has an intel 1215u (Walmart brand, Onn, does not appear anywhere) and Windows 11, I could plug it to an USB-C to HDMI adapter and switch from 50 Hz to 100 Hz, but now I can't do it anymore, I just get the 49.998 Hz weird option.
I have also tried using the same HDMI cable (the one from the other laptop) with the 1215u laptop but it didn't even accept the 3440x1440 resolution from the start, it only displays a stretched resolution of 1920x1080; can someone help me determine what should I do to get the 1215u laptop to display the 3440x1440 21:9 resolution through the HDMI port?
I'd also appreciate help to recover the 100 Hz refresh rate for the 3440x1440 resolution for both laptops or to at least add 75 or 60 Hz as options for that resolution. Thanks again.

*I've tried 5 different HDMI cables and got the same result (tried 2 more HDMI cables a few minutes ago).

RE: Unable to set refresh rate above 50Hz Xiaomi XMI3446 monitor
You shouldn't need to add 100 Hz with CRU. The monitor should already define 100 Hz in the EDID, so adding it again would be pointless. First I want to see if the monitor is defining everything correctly. Run reset-all.exe and reboot the laptop. Then run this and post the test.txt here: https://www.monitortests.com/edid-test.zip

Both laptops are acting like they don't support HDMI 2.0. As far as I can find, the ASUS GL753VD-DS71 only supports HDMI 1.4, so I don't know how 100 Hz worked before. The laptop has mini DisplayPort, so you should use a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable instead. If the USB-C port supports video, then you can also use USB-C to DisplayPort.

The other laptop should support HDMI 2.0 if it has an HDMI port, but if you are using a USB-C to HDMI adapter, then that's like using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, so the adapter might not support HDMI 2.0. You should prefer straight DisplayPort or USB-C to DisplayPort if possible.

If this all worked before, then it's possible the driver automatically updated, and either the older driver was allowing 100 Hz when it shouldn't have worked, or the newer driver has a bug.

Hey, thanks for your reply and help! Here's the result of the test for the Asus laptop (HDMI to HDMI):

RE: Unable to set refresh rate above 50Hz Xiaomi XMI3446 monitor
The monitor defines everything correctly. 3440x1440 @ 100 Hz is in the extension block, and the HDMI data blocks are defined correctly. The issue is either the laptops don't support HDMI 2.0, or Intel's driver is broken. You should report this to Intel and see what they say. DisplayPort should work around the problem, or you can try downgrading the driver.

Thanks a lot for your replies! I have ordered some new cables (HDMI 2.1, HDMI to displayport and another usb-c to HDMI). I´ll let you know if these things end up working as they should or not.

Why? You said you already tried 7 HDMI cables. An HDMI 2.1 cable won't make a difference. HDMI to DisplayPort requires conversion and won't help because you're still using HDMI on the laptop, unless you mean DisplayPort to HDMI, but then why not just use DisplayPort? Does the monitor not have DisplayPort? USB-C to HDMI will only help if it's a converter that supports HDMI 2.0, not a plain cable.

RE: Unable to set refresh rate above 50Hz Xiaomi XMI3446 monitor
Hello again ToastyX, I'm a little frustrated with the 1215u laptop... suddenly I could get it to display 3440x1440 60 Hz with the USB-C to HDMI cable, but just that. I still can't set 100 Hz as refresh rate and I still can't get anything more than 1080p when using the HDMI port/cable to connect it to the Xiaomi ultrawide monitor. I'm guessing that an automatic display driver update from Windows screwed things for me...
I also discovered another issue with the 1215u laptop a few days ago; I can't get it to display 2k or 4k when connecting it through HDMI to a 4K TV, the max resolution option I get is 1080p 60 Hz. I'll contact the Walmart/Onn support team on Monday to ask them if they can provide a copy of all the laptop drivers and reinstall them to see if that fixes something and I'll also contact Intel as you suggested. Thanks a lot for your time and replies!

And about buying more cables... I don't know man, I'm thinking that maybe a new certified HDMI 2.1 cable may act different or the other one may help...
These are the cables:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S1CGQ9Z/?tag=mtests-20#ad

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJ56L8LV/?tag=mtests-20#ad

Edit:
Man, this thing is absolutely crazy... I unplugged the usb-c to hdmi cable and kind of immediately connected the Hdmi to Hdmi cable on the same xiaomi monitor and I got this resolution, signal, don't know how to call this:

I don't know how that happened but it's useless, the text looked all blurry and the displayed signal didn't even use the whole screen... I tried changing the refresh rate to 50 Hz but it reverted back to stretched 1080p and it isn't showing the 3440x1440 resolution anymore...

2nd edit... I tried something stupid and disconnected the usbc cable from the laptop and plugged the hdmi cable really fast and it happened again! got the weird 3440x1440 blurry and kind of useless resolution to show on the xiaomi monitor... these things are weird... Huh
