Good to hear!

I can confirm it truly does work. I'm so glad.

That's great news.

I wonder if ATI/AMD did it on purpose, though I'm not entirely sure what they aimed to gain by barring users from modifying EDID values! It's not like they get royalties for FreeSync / VESA VRR technology.

So, I guess, it all boils down to Navi 31. Per MLID, AMD faced (if not still facing) their share of issues with the chiplet-based Navi 31 and it's still not working to its fullest potential so that might be the reason behind it?

In any case, I hope the issue has been fixed all across the 7000 Series / RDNA3 line-up as I 'might' end up with a 7600.

Could be a variety of reasons for it. These are stable cards indeed but have issues like any other previous release. AMD cards become better over time, as long as AMD supports them. Not necessarily better than Nvidia, but better than they originally were.

What monitor is this? Do you still see the flickering lines? Some LG panels seem to have a design flaw that causes certain patterns to induce flicker, which can happen when trying unsupported resolutions or refresh rates. Usually the flicker goes away after a few hours.

I've an old AMD GPU (R9-380X) and, for some reason or another, it doesn't support half-vsync i.e 30FPS/60Hz even though pretty much all Nvidia GPUs have that option.

Since CRU is such a powerful utility with so many options available (most of which I don't understand, quite frankly), I was wondering if it's possible to somehow enable half-vsync with it.
CRU mainly deals with monitor capabilities, while vsync is implemented on the GPU's end. Your best option would be to use a frame rate cap together with vsync.

I want to put both in 2560*1440 format. From my personal PC, with Nvdia, I manage to force the 2560*1440 format on the second (only the format, not the real resolution which is materially limited).
It works well. But for work, I use the same screens but with another PC that doesn't have an nvdia card.
I tried to set 2560*1440 on CRU, but I have a message on the screen telling me that it "cannot display this video mode, change computer display input to 1920*1080".

Do you have an idea ?
CRU can't create downscaled resolutions. You can enable Virtual Super Resolution in AMD Radeon Settings to get 2560x1440 on the 1920x1080 monitor.

Intel doesn't have such a feature.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I have a Samsung NEO G8 4k Monitor and two Samsung OLED G8 (3440x1440).
I'm currently trying to enable nvidia surround for them and whenever I try that, it only gives me the resolution of 7680x1440. To me this doesn't make sense because if I added all the horizontals together it should be above 10000 resolution right? and keeping the 1440 as a vertical. I don't know much about monitors and I'm trying to get this to work. I tried adding resolutions using CRU and every time I do it, my monitors flicker and I basically have to reinstall my graphics drivers to get them back to normal. Any advice would help thanks.

CPU: I9-13900k
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4090
All monitors using Display port
