Toasty I recently posted about 360 hz it now works in extension blocks but it still is red when I try to put it in detailed resolutions

Why are you trying to add it in two places? You only need it once.

i added it in the extension blocks how do i set the stretched res up from there?

Stretching is handled by the monitor or GPU scaling, not CRU.

so i go into extension blocks then i add the resolution and hertz i want and then what are the steps to get that to work? so that my screen doesent black out because i am trying to get stretched resolution on fortnite with 360 hz and all the videos i watched are people with 240 so how do i do it with 360 hz

All the videos complicate things with unnecessary steps. The easiest way to stretch is to use GPU scaling and add the resolution you want with SRE: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Threa...Editor-SRE

Some people think GPU scaling adds lag, which isn't true, but if you want to use display scaling instead, then you need to add the resolution you want with CRU, restart, and try setting the resolution in the Windows display settings.

You shouldn't get a black screen after restarting if you didn't delete any of the existing resolutions unless the driver crashes, but then it should be fine after a reboot unless you're running into a driver bug (NVIDIA has issues on some systems), in which case you should boot Windows in safe mode and run reset-all.exe and just do the GPU scaling way with SRE.

If restarting is fine but you get a black screen after changing the resolution in the display settings, that means the monitor doesn't support the resolution, so you'll have to use GPU scaling. Windows will automatically revert the resolution if you don't confirm it after 15 seconds, so no worries there.

The only issue is if you have an NVIDIA GPU, sometimes it won't give you the display scaling option when it should (another NVIDIA driver bug), so people end up just deleting all the other resolutions except the one they want. Regardless of what happens, you can always boot Windows in safe mode and run reset-all.exe if you can't see the screen.

That sounds like a graphics driver-imposed limitation because DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 should support up to 1080 MHz pixel clock at 8 bpc. If there are HDMI data blocks, delete them since they aren't needed for DisplayPort. If the range limits is included, set it to 1080 MHz. The driver might be listening to one of those.

Tried both suggestions, no avail. Still don't get the refresh rate in the drop-down list. Anything else that graphics driver may be listening to?

BTW, I suspect that the dock may pass 600MHZ pixel clock limit to the laptop, because it only has a HDMI2.0 downlink port although it has a DP1.4 uplink port.

600 MHz is not a DisplayPort limitation, so this is probably being limited by Intel's driver. This is something Intel would have to fix, and they probably won't. You can try asking their support anyway. They will probably blame the monitor being HDMI 2.0 reporting a 600 MHz limit even though it works with the other laptop. It's possible to define 3840x2160 @ 120 Hz as a 4:2:0 resolution in the CTA-861 extension block, but the driver might only accept that with a straight HDMI connection, if at all.

I recently bought a new monitor https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessori...e.com%252F and for somereason i cant get ANY res to work. I have followed instructions perfectly and everytime i add a custom res or even keep it normal res the highest one it shows is 240hz. It wont let me change it to 360 but sometimes it does? IDK but no matter if i leave it at 240 or 360 when i restart and then go tom list all modes in windows my monitor goes black and goes into stand by mode. Is my monitor not supported?

Monitors with the NVIDIA G-SYNC processor only support a limited set of resolutions. You'll have to use GPU scaling.
