RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hey guys.
Anyone running CRU and eyefinity? Looks like since catalyst 15.7.1 and now 15.9 there is some issue with eyefinity and any CRU refresh rate above the standard. I can get refresh rate on my XL2730z with DVI-D to display up to 120hz single monitor, but when I hit eyefinity, black screen and monitors lose signal. Thanks! |

To use GPU scaling, you'd have to add 75 Hz at the native resolution if the monitor can handle that. Otherwise, you'll have to disable GPU scaling and use the monitor's scaling options. Is there any way around this? I have an AMD HD 7700 running Windows 10.That is not possible with CRU. Windows can only list refresh rates as integers, and the driver will round up 59.94 Hz to 60 Hz. The driver also adds 59 Hz as an alias of 60 Hz, so that would interfere with having separate 59 Hz and 60 Hz entries. To use GPU scaling, you'd have to add 75 Hz at the native resolution if the monitor can handle that. Otherwise, you'll have to disable GPU scaling and use the monitor's scaling options. And make sure you disabled GPU scaling before setting the lower resolution. You'll know if GPU scaling is disabled if you go into the monitor OSD's "information/system" area and it shows 1024x768. There's literally almost a 0% chance that WIDE/ORIGINAL would be greyed out if the monitor (not computer/video card) system OSD area says you're at 1024x768. That's impossible. (I remember even my old Samsung T220 had that option available). If the information/system area says you're at 1920x1080, it means GPU scaling is *still* enabled. Make sure you created the resolution and restarted the driver and switched to it. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi all, I just subscribed to the forum hoping to get some help. First of all, mad props to ToastyX for CRU, I used it on my previous Packard Bell gaming laptop to play CSGO and I easily pushed it from 60hz to 100Hz.
I very recently bought a new gaming laptop, this very model, an Acer with a GeForce 960M. However, I did not know it came with the fucked-up "Optimus" technology that still uses the shitty Intel 4600 integrated graphics to handle Windows (unsupported by CRU). I did my homework searching the forum, found in this post no more hope. It's frustrating, because I have an awesome computer but limited to 60Hz now. So, could someone either confirm me that I am completely, 100% fucked, or is there a way to circumvent the problem by, for example, kill the Intel graphics to force the GeForce (no pun intended) to run Windows and handle resolution, enabling it to push my refresh rate OVER 9000 (or at least to a good 90-100Hz)? Many thanks for all your help Monitor Tests, you are my last spark of hope. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello everybody! My first post to the forum.. First of all, thanks to ToastyX for this awesome tool..
I hope somebody will be able to help me. I have a 2560x1080 LG monitor and a R9 390 with a short displayport cable.. tried standard, reduced and even copying the original settings and then changing only the refresh rate (manual) and nothing! not even 3hz.. it just gives me some colorful mess.. I've noticed that both default polarities in 2560x1080 are negative.. please help!!! my exact monitor model is LG 25ub55 |
