When I enable HDR, it automatically decreases the brightness of the monitor if I have a solid black background, or that's more important if I watch a movie and there's a night sky for example. I mean, it decreases the brightness when there's something dark on the whole screen. I guess HDR just turns off for that moment and then turns on again. So... Is this a bug or a feature? The monitor: 15.6" IPS 1920x1080 FHD 240hz, nVidia GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB.
That sounds more like dynamic contrast in the monitor.

Where's the original extension block? You probably need it for DSC to work.

I added the original block along with the display ID block and it worked. Thank you for the help.

Something is blocking the driver. Riot Vanguard and FACEIT Anti-Cheat are common culprits.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
If anyone faces Black Screen of Death after overclocking their reso then try doing system restore by entering the menu [When the PC is booting Hold Shift and mash F8 and choose advanced options then System Restore or try using Safe Mode and reset the resolution,do the same to enter safe mode.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hi All,

Hoping someone can provide me with a bit of insight on an issue i've been having.

Running

Radeon 5700xt through a HDMI 2.0 Cable to a Denon AVR (2300w) and a Vizio 70" 4k TV (Compatible with 4k@60hz)

My reason for running CRU is to enable 3440x1440 to stream to my ultrawide monitor in another room (using Parsec or Steam IHS)

After a bit of trial and error, i was able to add custom resolutions using CRU and stream 3440x1440 while running parsec.

When i added the custom resolutions, running any resoloution 1920x1080, 3840x2160 would work fine @ 30HZ, but as soon as something would attempt to run at 60hz, or i would switch to 60hz in display settings, the screen would go blank, and resolution not supported would display on the TV.

if i delete my custom resolution, everything works fine @ 60hz.

any ideas what i'm doing wrong.

thanks

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Apologies if this has been asked before, but is there a way to enable 10 bpc colour dept in Nvidia Control Panel when using a custom refresh rate?

I've got a Dell S3220DGF, which has 60Hz, 120Hz & 165Hz modes over DisplayPort by default.

I'm trying to create a 144Hz setting with CRU, which works, but Nvidia Control Panel always detects it as a custom resolution (even when modifying the default 120Hz mode) and forces the monitor into 8 bpc. I can select 10 bpc from the colour depth drop down, but as soon as I hit apply it reverts back to 8 bpc. Windows Display Information also confirms it's still in 8-bit mode.

Not sure if I've got something set wrong in CRU, or is there a way to force Nvidia Control Panel to see it as a native refresh rate instead of a custom one.

GPU: GTX 1080 Ti
Latest drivers installed.

That's weird because only NVIDIA custom resolutions are supposed to be listed as custom. CRU resolutions should appear under "PC" unless they changed something recently. Try an older driver like 446.14.

Show me what you're doing. Export a before and after file.
