RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I've been trying to add 1440x1080 as a resolution on CRU with no success. My monitor specs can be seen here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/120483...ml?page=4.
So far the only way I've been getting 1440x1080 to work on it is through AMD's custom resolutions and even with that I gotta manually export the registry key and edit it to make it work, on windows it shows the resolution like this: https://i.imgur.com/reSXX77.png (note the active signal). Wondering if I can add it "natively" with CRU because then I could use GPU scaling which doesn't work with the registry editing method. Tried just adding 1440x1080 on CRU but the monitor complains about being out of range or something. Thanks in advance. |

My monitor specs can be seen here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/120483...ml?page=4. That means the monitor doesn't support the resolution. The monitor is 1024x768. The resolution you created with AMD is a GPU-scaled resolution. CRU can't create downscaled resolutions. ToastyX Wrote:CRU adds monitor resolutions, not scaled resolutions. Lower resolutions can be scaled up to the native resolution by enabling GPU scaling in the graphics driver's control panel, but higher resolutions won't be scaled down by the GPU. Higher resolutions will only work if the monitor can handle them. |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello all,
I'm having problems using CRU (1.5.1) with my RTX 3080. Everytime i try to change any setting (even decreasing freesync range on V Rate), and then restart, the whole screen just goes black. This stays even after a restart, and usually I have to switch to another Display Port, and disable freesync on my monitor. This also happens with my HDMI TV, if i try to add a freesync range, or any information at all. ![]() I've always had AMD GPUs and could successfully change the freesync range of my DP Monitor and add Freesync to my HDMI TV. ![]() Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? |

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Need to use refresh rate from 59.500 to 59.999 for some reason
But after setting it in CRU Windows settings do not show 59 only 59.94 Or another case such as 60.000 to 60.499 I can actually only use the system default refresh rate of 60 instead of the refresh rate I set (60.XXX) Is there a way to solve this problem? |

Some reported issues since 471.11, but that was a system freeze, not just a black screen. As for the TV, there's no way to add FreeSync to a display with NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not support HDMI FreeSync, only HDMI 2.1 VRR. |

YCbCr 4:2:0 resolutions are defined in the CTA-861 extension block in a 4:2:0 resolutions data block, which you can add by adding a TV resolutions data block and enabling the "4:2:0 resolutions" option. Windows will only list the resolution if the GPU driver supports it. |

It did https://i.imgur.com/tDl6Q9L.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Zpq8LUC.jpg But because there is a color depth bug when modifying from Radeon Software so I looked up CRU And that's what I saw CRU can't have multiple settings like in the picture After setting, it can't override the default settings of the system (60.0-60.5→60), or specifically separate out (59.5-60.0→59), no options at all, it's just ignored. I also tried Run as administrator and it did not work Perhaps the original design of CRU does not take into account the above situation So I would like to ask if this feature is possible in the future Or is this actually a bug? |

Radeon Software custom resolutions lets you specify which integer refresh rate to list as, even if the actual refresh rate doesn't match. CRU is an EDID override tool. There's no way to do that with EDID overrides. Refresh rates in the [59.5-60.5) Hz range are considered the same by Windows. |
