What laptop is this? What is happening beyond 100 Hz? What timing parameters are you using?

Are you also removing the resolutions using SRE?
Correct. I used SRE and CRU to remove all resolutions. I even edited my registry "nv_mode" and removed all non-native resolutions. That worked perfectly for HDMI, but for some reason DisplayPort is ignoring it.

Built-in OSD display, the one time it did work I could see the refresh rate is at 120+ range for a 60fps locked games, assuming LFC kicks in at that point and there is very little to no flicker. Now the same game went from 60Hz spiked up to 240Hz and the flicker is happening more frequently.

I've tested multiple games, when my fps is in within 90fps i can see the osd refresh rate is at the same frequency. The OSD counter is not bugged.

I don't know what you mean. The NVIDIA color format setting should be global and not per resolution or refresh rate.

in nvidia control panel, under Ultra HD, HD, SD section, there is a 1080p, 1920x1080 (native) which supports 50/59/60hz.

Under PC section, there is also 1920x1080, which supports 85/120/144hz.

both are the same resolution, but both are listed in different places. presumably, one is a TV format, while the other is a detailed PC format. however, my native/preferred timing within the EDID is also 60hz, with higher refresh rates shown in CTA-861 extension block as detailed resolutions.

my question is, because the "native" resolution is under the Ultra HD, HD, SD section, and nvidia defaults this 60hz 1080p resolution to "limited" RGB, would it cause color signal problems? or is this specifically for TV modes only? i might be on drugs but i can say i notice a difference in the way colors look and the way games feel (scaled properly/feels faster). the weird thing is that i'm using DisplayPort connection, and I heard this problem only affect HDMI inputs.

Maybe CRU can help us with ASUS gaming laptop G834JY SCAR 18 (i9-13980HX + 4090 laptop 16GB 256bit + 500nits NE180QDM-NZ2 2560x1600 240Hz G-Sync panel).

The issue is that many, even non-demanding at all, games still stutter on this beast of a laptop... This includes old games, and even MAME emulator (!!) or Nintendo and other system emulators...

This of course is really disappointing, and after I watched this YouTube video (with a different mini led panel though):

I wonder if it could be a bad sync with the screen the real reason of the stuttering reporting, and not a performance/FPS/NVidia driver problem.
This screen even fails UFO Ghosting online test at 240Hz (strange enough at 120Hz will pass it)!

Unfortunately I'm not a screen expert, so I humbly ask for your help here if there's something you think CRU can "fix". Here is what CRU says (Edit button) on the 3 screens (?) found:

CRU can't fix something like this. Return the laptop and get something else that works properly. People are claiming all sorts of magic solutions, so I don't know what the actual source of the problem is. There could be some software or driver installed by default that's causing the problem. I would try uninstalling any ASUS-specific software such as Armory Crate.

That doesn't seem right. DisplayPort should be full range RGB by default, although it can support YCbCr 4:4:4/4:2:2 as well, which is normally limited range. I would definitely set it to full range RGB if the default is limited range.

I think both of you have the same problem with EDID overrides not taking effect. This needs to be reported to NVIDIA because it's an issue with their driver. One thing both displays have in common is they require Display Stream Compression (DSC) for the highest refresh rate at the native resolution with DisplayPort, so the driver might be ignoring EDID overrides when DSC is active. Neither display seems to use DSC for HDMI, but their refresh rates are also limited.
